Free FULL version of Photoshop - ENDED
I passed 100 and didn't do a giveaway. I'll do one.
Don't get too excited...it's an old version of Photoshop 6.0 for Windows (english language). It may be old, but it's still in shrink wrap.
How do I have it, you ask? I work at Adobe. I bought it long ago and apparently put it in the back of the top of my closet.
I bought it for something like $20...what a deal they give their employees, eh? It's totally illegal for me to sell this thing on eBay.
But...there is absolutely nothing wrong with me giving this stuff away...or selling it for what I got it for. Since I cannot exactly remember what I paid...it's GIVEAWAY FODDER!!!
What's the question you ask? I'll involve both Coins and Computers:
I've got a stack of 18 (eightteen) 1982 pennies. As you know, some are Zinc and some are Copper, but I have not weighed them yet. Next TUESDAY (April 1thst) at 7pm, I will weigh them and produce the answer as to which are zinc and which are copper. I will then go through the list, looking for the winner. I will announce the result of the coin weighing and the winner at the same time...soon after 7pm.
Your task is to guess which ones are Zinc and which ones are Copper...you must do so in the exact order of my stack of pennies...I have randomized, then stacked them...but there is a twist to the scoring:
There are eightteen answers. Eightteen possible chances to be right or wrong. I'll construct an eightteen bit binary number out of your answers, with the first answer being the most significant bit and the last answer being the least significant bit. A correct answer is a '1' in that bit position. An incorrect answer is zero.
The highest possible score is 2^18-1...or 262,143.
If you get the first one right, that alone is worth 131,072 points...
If you get the second one right, that is worth 65,536 points...
If you get the third one right, that is worth 32,768 points...
and so on until...(keep dividing the points by two...by the time you get to the eighteenth coin you will be at one point)
If you get the last one right, that is worth one point.
What this means: If you get the first one correct and nobody else does...you win!
Everyone gets exactly one guess...in the form of eightteen ordered "Copper" or "Zinc" answers.
I can say now that tabulating the answers is going to suck.
(If I totally screwed up and made impossible rules, I reserve the right to attempt to alter rules to make it all possible...but I think we're good)
A RULE AMENDMENT: In the case of a tie...where two or more folks provide identical answers...I will have to pick the earliest submitter of that correct answer, working from the top of the list, going down.
Here it is:

The winner has been announced as "tightbudget". The details are in the last post.

(i'll even pay for shipping...all the winner needs to provide is a shipping address)
If you don't feel like providing ALL EIGHTTEEN answers, you can skip a few at the end and i'll assume you 'got it wrong'.
It's sort of unlikely that someone will get them all right...but it could happen. It's one in a quarter million!
It should not be hard to detect the winner. Essentially, I am looking for the person with the most correct answers in a row. Once I see a wrong answer, I can record how many correct answers there were and move on. At some point, I will be able to skip through the answers quite quickly.
(and editing messages appears to count for a post, bringing us closer to my next giveaway)
I didn't realize that one of the answers to this contest was also the Internet Generally Accepted Sound Of Snoring And Boredom!
Thanks for the chance!

falling asleep here...
if I win I will donate the photoshop to airplanenut's charity auction and you can ship straight to him.
I already have it, and it has compatibility issues with Windows Vista Premium. (works great on my old computer tho!)
Thanks for the chance and neat idea!
