There have been 2-3 real ones up in the last couple of months. I'm not sure how you didn't see them, since you claim to be searching all the time? That JSA/BGS one you are mentioning was on Ebay not too long ago with a $550 or best offer, raw, before the guy bought and had it authenticated.

PSA assumed they were good. You all know what it means to assume.ASS U ME. My 52 mantle is missing.I assume I sent it to PSA for grading. Now where is it PSA? I would like compensation
Someone is going to want some compensation for this one. It appears that being in the PSA holder sure instilled some buyer confidence. Too bad it's just another forgery, and someone just got ripped off to the tune of $900+.

what happened is this, Fleer never got all the intended auto versions signed by pujols in 2001(there is a nonauto version also)...they had leftover "authentic Autograph" stamped cards with no auto, and when they went bankrupt and all their assets were sold, these unsigned "auto" versions made it out of fleer HQ's....

I guarantee that both of the ones you believe to be real are fakes. Those were coming out well before Fleer went bankrupt because many of them were backdoored, blank, and then forged, after they left Fleer. There are 2 different forged versions, signed by totally different people, and both versions are detailed in this thread.
first off, the version i last posted #264, are found very infrequently.....they are never seen raw like most of the fakes....a real version hasnt been for sale on ebay in many months, thus the $900 price tag on that one...
i have been following these cards since i started collecting pujols in 2002 and that version (#264) was the only version there was from the beginning....there are only about 60 of these and they all have the same style sig ....
then AFTER the bankrupcy the fakes started coming out of fast and furious.....
keep track from here going forward.....it is rare to see the real version....i have tracked over 100 different fakes -all went for around $250, and then #263 went for sale , i tracked it from day 1 beacuse i was going to win it if it fell too low, an it did sell for a proper amount $900....

I have collected Pujols since 2001. I have received his autograph my fair share of times over the years(since I am in the St Louis area), the first time being May of 2001, at the gate of the St Louis Cardinals parking garage(long before we even knew how great he would turn out to be). I also do volunteer work for The Pujols Family Foundation, and I know Albert's signature as well as anyone out in the hobby. I can tell you for certain, that your card is a forgery, and so is the one that just sold for $900+. Neither of them are Pujol's authentic signature.
Compare yours and the one that sold for $900+ to this copy that is authentic..
Note how shaky the sig is on yours, and the one that sold for $900+. It looks like someone with parkinson's disease signed your card, and the last one that sold for $900+. Notice how smooth and flowing the sig is on the JSA authenticated one,and the sig looks nothing like yours. You can have wishful thinking, but I will guarantee you that your PSA slabbed one is just another worthless forgery.
I know you may collect Pujols, but you simply don't know his sig as well as you may think you do. If you want to send to PSA or Spence for further analysis/examination, you will see exactly what I am saying. Simply, you got burned. I'm sorry to have to tell you that, but it's true.
I would also agree that the only card that looks like the typical Pujols AUTO's I see is the version that Stan the Man has in his post being Authenticated by JSA.
unfortunatley these were not signed in sequential order, or this may be easier to figure out.....
it is possible that Pujols signed these at different times since they were not sticker autos like donruss used...
that would explain why its not an even break in the signed and unsigned versions...
he may have signed one batch first, and another batch later----his auto ranged drastically his rookie year depending on how many cards he was signing at once .....
we all agree that there are obvious fakes with this issue, but time will tell how few of these lowere border versions appear...i bet this type doesnt show up often going forward..

Fandango,
Any excuses to try and justify a forgery just simply does not fly. I realize since you have quite a bit money tied up in it, that it's hard to swallow, but let's be real here. Pujols' sig has certain writing characteristics that remained pretty much the same, even with all of the cards/stickers he signed his rookie season. You card does not have any of those characteristics. I guarantee you that Spence or PSA will fail your card, if you send it in for signature authentication. I don't want to be mean about this, but I do know what I'm talking about. I am just wanting to help you. If it was me, I would call Joe Orlando and see what he would do for you, if anything.

Yes, that was dumb on fleer's part. it was also dumb for the bowman chrome card to be hand numbered, in my opinion.
