Totally off topic

Coin collecting is giving way to something more important this weekend.
My boy is coming home.
The submarine he was on docked the 18th of December, and he's due in Grand Rapids Mi airport the morning of the 29th on leave.
I'll pick him up there and bring him home.
I just got an email from him.
What a wonderful Christmas present.

Ray

Good deal! What boat is he assigned to? image
  • He was on the USS Albany, a Los Angeles class fast attack sub.
The sub he is assigned to permenantly, is the USS Toledo, a similar type sub, that is in drydock for upgrading.

I was on the Nathan Hale, Patrick Henry and USS Puffer. If you've got to go to sea you might as well ride a sub. Anything else is just a target.

Not a better gift than that. As retired Navy, those were the most joyous times of my life! Finally getting home after a long deployment. image
