7068 orders placed from 12:12 PM to 12:32 PM. Just my two orders. but closer to 10 K now as everyone is stating. Looks like heading toward a possible sellout.
I'm in for one too! First one got the "suspended" message and the web site died for me during confirmation ... grrrr! Placed a second order this one too was suspended, but then the first order went to "on hold" yeah! Called U.S. Mint to confirm order was ok, and they said everything was fine. The first suspended they couldn't explain and the second one was suspended due to limit of 1 per household. So I think I'm good, at least for now. Order is "on hold" apparently due to dollar amount, but should be fine.
Ok, at the last minute I decided why not... Order # 274793XX
It does say "suspended" and 12/31 delivery.
I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector. Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.

Looks like about 10,000 in. The Gold was sold out by now. 20,000 more to go will be a lot of ground to cover.
Also, I had a suspended and then it turned to Hold after about 10 minutes, I think they had to check for duplicates, so if you get a suspended, just wait a few and recheck, if after a half hour or more, you might want to call the Mint.
Its not the orders that matter but rather whether these are going to final holder or to flippers. Just look at the FS coins. Quick sellouts and quicker fall in price as they got dumped on Ebay.
I got a customer service rep at 12:02 on phone, he stated Washington hasn't released them yet. 12:06 Got a supervisor and she stated all coins backed order? Is this Bull Hickey?
I wanted a chance at first strikes. I will sit on them and sell one later then. The supervisor let me order 2 with different CC#'s.
So help me understand about PCGS stating if they get the set/coins within 30 days they will put the first strike cert on them. True/False
<< <i>Its not the orders that matter but rather whether these are going to final holder or to flippers. >>
That's true. There were LOTS of canceled Jefferson Liberty orders in the following days.
In the first 30 minutes of ordering, the mint took about 9,000 orders. The mint's web page was flying by then. In the first hour, the mint has taken nearly 10,000 orders (barely 1,000 orders in the second 30 minutes).
I wonder how long a sell out will take and how many will cancel their orders by the 31st of Dec?
I would like to see one of two alternatives: 1) many canceled orders plays nicely for those that want to keep this set (like me) or 2) a full sell-out drives interest in the series with future sales and locks in the 2003-2005 as the low mintages of the series.

First Strike starts when the Mint starts shipping. So if the first orders go out on 1/1/08, FS will last until 2/1/08, give or take.
