Great find! I would love to have that maris promo! Please post when this stuff hits auction, and if it's yours make sure you keep some for yourself!!

From everything I've read the 72 topps cloth stickers never got released, some found their way out the back door but none in packs. PSA used to grade them, there's one PSA 5 clemente and a couple other players are also graded. I tried twice to get my clemente graded just to have it slabbed, they're pretty fragile and I don't want it getting damaged (even though it's not nice).

I've seen a few 72 cloth for sale but I don't really watch them so can't help with pricing.

Beckett will slab them but all they would give me was "authentic"

I am taking offers on one or both of these cards. I do not have them with me but can pick them up if a deal is struck.

I know that she already turned down $800 for one.

    Good catch.
They were probably going to make them like the Bush cards to give to Kemp to hand out to his friends
  • BunchOBullBunchOBull Posts: 6,188 ✭✭✭
That is pretty cool. I'd love to see one of these Bush cards.

I didnt grab one of the bush cards because thats the only thing she considered expensive.

When they were given to her, she was told there was only 100 made given to bush for his friends and family.

But if an offer was made i could pass it along and then i would get a scan up etc...

  • With this being my first post, I would like to say hi and want to thank all of you for all of the wonderful info i've gained in the past year by reading these posts.

I have to say that i'm very excited about your find, Rogermnj. I find myself refreshing this post every few minutes to see what's next.

You may find the below link helpful in determining some of the items that you have. It lists most of the Topps Sports Test Issues through 1980 and has the 1972 Cloths listed. Each test issue has a short description.

    Link

I for one am interested in the Bush card. Could you tell me the condition of the Bush cards? If it helps to get a scan, i am willing to pay in excess of $800.

Are you opening the 1971 vending? If so, we'd love some scans!!!

how many George Bush cards did she have?
    ·p_A·
  • RogermnjRogermnj Posts: 1,809 ✭✭
    2 george bush cards.

I will take offers on the card under the assumption it is NM+(7.5)

When I have the scan and card in hand we will adjust based on the actual condition.

In order for me to get the card in hand and take some scans etc I would need to have a good offer from a reliable person.

  • I'd pay $1,000 for a Bush 1990 Topps card in decent shape.
  • $1 million for a PSA 10

Ok guys, i can go to her with a reasonable offer now and see if she bites.
I will prob have a scan of one of them Mon/Tues.
    Roger-

By the way, just wanted to add a scan of some of the star wars cards so you could see how clean they are.
If anyone knows of people willing to pay good money for MINT cards let me know. I received 1 offer but I think it is low.
