That would be nice. As it stands now, whenever I'm surfing Ebay and notice someone with private feedback, I block them. My block list is very, very long.

I couldn't believe my own eyes after reading his Feedback...he reg'd you for that coin which he received within three days of his buying it ? I also live in Florida. It usually takes me four or five days to get anything shipped to me.

I also couldn't believe that nut job called you scum ...Glad I don't have to deal with people like that.
I don't sell on Ebay but I'll link this thread to my friends that do.

    Edited to add:

I didn't read the full litany and am completely at a loss for words by his email to you.

Hard to understand this bidder's response/behavior especially seeing as he had return privileges. IMO it wasn't a bad buy at all. If its remorse just sender back or even use your return privileges before its shipped. In the end it looks like the bidder screwed himself the most.

<< <i>when a bidder is blocked by a seller on e-bay, is the bidder notified that a block has been placed? it appears so, since he was aware and responded to russ' block. >>

No, the bidder is not informed when they are blocked by someone. Russ indicated that the guy has bid on his items before. He probably bid and noticed he was blocked. A coincidence.

That's what I'm thinking. His verbiage went way beyond the realm of venting dissatisfaction and crossed into personal threats. You could probably have some legal options to keep him at bay if you so choose. I myself wouldn't hesitate one bit to report his words and actions to the local authorities in his city. Even if they don't do squat, they were at least informed.

I would almost be tempted to show up at his door and see how many threats he makes with a broken jaw.

OK, let's not dis California. Remember where your slabs come from!

Personally I found it, at first funny, then sad when I read this guys response.
Could any logical person act the way he acted?

So I went out & found this....

Moderate symptoms of Alzheimer's disease can include:

    • Increased memory loss - forgetfulness extends to forgetting old facts, such as past career and names of friends
    • Shortened attention span
    • Difficulty organizing thoughts
    • Deficits in intellect and reasoning (for example, poor judgment, forgetting manners)
    • Problems with language, including speech, reading, comprehension, and writing
Inability to learn new things or cope with unexpected situations
    • Repetitive statements, movements, or questions
    • Difficulty recognizing friends and family
    • Restlessness, agitation, anxiety, tearfulness and wandering, especially in the late afternoon or evening (called "sundowning")
    • Hallucinations, delusions, suspiciousness, or paranoia
    • Lack of concern for appearance and hygiene
Loss of impulse control (for example, sloppy table manners, undressing at inappropriate times or places, using vulgar language)
    • Difficulty performing tasks such as using the shower and toilet, or following written notes

    I'm just saying.....
    image
  • The only time i ever got a similar recation from a buyer was when I stated in an auction that a graded pcgs coin was pq and possibly a grade higher. Grading is so subjective that if the buyer doesn't agree with your assessment after he recieves the coin, it leaves a bad taste in the buyers mouth and they get bitter. I would suggest to all that you should have great pictures, state the grade and let the buyer make his own assessment and bid accordingly.
Luck happens when preparation meets opportunity.

The more I read robohog2000's words, the more I think that something snapped in his brain. It just isn't normal behavior. The coin was won on Sunday, shipped on Monday, and received on Wednesday -- exemplary seller performance by any measure. Even if one were to assume that greghansen is a complete n00b and selling overgraded garbage, the situation could have been completely resolved by the buyer simply saying "I'm sorry, but this coin does not meet with my satisfaction, and I'd like to return it" -- and greghansen would have taken it back, and that'd be the end of it.

All of the swearing and vitriole can only indicate a seriously disturbed and deranged mind. Maybe he went off his meds, or maybe something broke in his brain. He needs help from someone, somewhere, and hopefully he has someone close to him that recognizes what has happened before this guy causes damage "in real life".

Contact this nutballs ISP and give them a copy of the profane messages. As far as I know EVERY ISP has a clause in the Terms and Conditions such that when a user accepts the ISP's user agreement, they are specifically prohibited from sending profane/harrassing email.

His ISP will boot him, which will amount to a major hassle for him and will be sweet revenge for you.

Seconded. Greg could have flamed this guy to kingdom come, and few here would blame him, given the abuse he's taken. Instead, he's been absolutely professional each step of the way -- indeed, even still offering the refund after the initial profanity filled missive. He's taught a clinic here on good customer service at all costs.
