<< <i>and, I'll need to go back and look this up, but a Ripken RC was pulled from a rip >>

I think Gary is the one who pulled it. >>

Actually, I pulled 2 Ripken rookies, Fleer and Topps, in the first 80s rip. I also pulled a Marino rookie in one of the football rips although it was way off centered. Counting the basketball rip that is getting ready to start, I have been involved in 4 or 5 rips. I pulled some decent cards in all but the last one I was involved in, the 70s and 80s baseball packs. I didn't post the results of that rip because there was nothing to post.
With that being said, I did find it odd that very few stars or good rooike cards were pulled. I did post a concern in the first 80s baseball rip. Anyone that has ever opened any 80s Fleer boxes knows that very seldom do you get any duplicates. Fleer had the best collitation of any boxes in those years. I remember at least 3 1989 Fleer Billy Ripkens being pulled. I pulled one of them. I made a comment about so many Ripkens coming from one box but no one seemed concerned at the time so I let it go.
As for Gary's guilt or innocents, it doesn't look good for him. There are too many unanswered questions. As far as the still unopened packs from all the rips and having them graded or checked by BBCE, even if packs were resealed, I don't think anyone is stupid enough to open and reseal all the packs. If Gary were opening and resealing packs, he would probably open until he got the card or cards he wanted and not open the rest of the box. So there would/could be quite a few packs that were never messed with.

    Just my opinion, James

I thought this purchase of a 1986 Fleer Grossville High box a bit odd, , until I remembered that 1986-87 Fleer packs had stickers AND gum in them. What better way to get authentic 21 year old Fleer Gum than by buying a junk non-sports box.

That is as damning as anything else that's been brought to light here, along with the empty box and the lot of 86-87 Fleer basketball wrappers. The right gum is essential for any "pack factory," and it usually comes from an inexpensive source like the box mentioned. All this is just sickening to me.

this was first requested over 24 hours ago. it would be nice to see.

even without the wrappers I'd like to see a picture of the bar.
  • I am so glad you stupid sheep lost your money.
Just proves to me that you guys are blinded by your vintage prejudice.

Hey 80'sjunkie, burn your stuff. It works and teh sheep on teh board here will like you more because they are into burning anythingmade of paper that they don't like.

Wow, though, I can't believe you were able to rip these guys off here.

Well, I mean they are SOOOOOOOOOOOO stupid for trusting anybody on a friggin' Internet forum board.

No wodner I argue with tehse stupid peope so much. It's because they are living in a box, living in a cardboard box! (figuratively speaking)

So thank you 80'sjunkie!! thank you with all my heart I support your scam 100%

BY the way you forgot to cange your personal info and banking account info before they caught wind. Trust me, Paypal's collection efforts are minimal at best.

Heck you should have just mailed them empty packages certified by USPS. Paypal would have sided with you!!!

    Anyway, maybe next time!!

Thank you for humbling the sheep on this board.

You making them feel like they messed up makes me feel good!!!!

I mean I only feel this way because of the way they have treated me.

I never meant any harm to them.

But because I was different, they Amost all fought me.

Meanwhie they all got blidsided by your pathetic plan.

    Thank you again!

    Gary,

Id still like some concrete information and proof of the existance of your charity " cards 4 kids "

In case it has slipped from your memory during a beer bong blackout let me refresh...

You claimed to have spearheaded a charity that collects sports cards for sick and underpriviledged children in CA.

You stated that you have been in charge of this charity for many years, have collected over a half million cards, distributed them to local hospitals, and spent countless hours with ill children talking cards, sports, etc.

You claimed a rapidly growing network in your charity including plans of expanding chapters of said charity in other areas on the west coast.

Ive asked in another thread but since this is the thread YOU created to clear your good name and reputation I figured this may be the easier venue to be able to get your response.

Could you PLEASE give myself and others some form of proof that this charity not only exisits but also proof of actual children, hospitals, etc where all these cards that MANY generous collectors here and elsewhere have so graciously donated to ?

I ask only because several folks including myself have been trying to track down this charity. Searches for ANY information on your charitable organiztion come up dead empty.

It appears this charity of yours that many, many people have given to may NOT actually exist. I would hate to think that all the kindness shown by the good people who gave their cards to you for this charity may have been duped. I feel sorry knowing so many good, caring people thought their cards were going to sick, bed ridden children when they may actually have entered your personal collection, or far worse...used for unscrupulous tactics.

In hopes of clearing your good name I ask again, could you please provide some proof of your charitable organizations existance ?

Thanks for coming up with that link Steve.

Id like to contact the owner/creater of that site to find out of Gary has any involvement with them.

Believe me, if the charity is on the level and Gary has indeed been a part of it, collected cards for it, and donated his time and efforts than I will be the first to publicly admit my mistake in questioning him in regards to it all.

Gary, please answer these 5 remaining questions fully and truthfully:

    Unanswered Questions:
    • Where did the 84 Football box come from and why were we not told of this until now?
    • Why did you edit/replace your posts in the 78 thread about wanting to ship the boxes yourself with a smiley?
    • Why buy junk 1986 Fleer non-sports junk wax packs from eBay, 86 Fleer wrappers, and an empty box around the same time of the basketball rip involving 86 Fleer packs (please don't respond that you collect those purchased Grossville High cards)?
    • Can you provide third-party evidence that Cards 4 Kids exists (letterhead, office address, charity president's contact, etc.)?
    • Was our 78 football box from cocolao-1 on eBay (not DACW as you first claimed)?

But for starters, it certainly isn't Gary's name on the contact e-mail. Frankly, this guy Russell Easley probably is not going to be willing to give out that type of information - but it can't hurt to ask.

I've contacted Mr. Easley and I'm waiting for his reply.

Please don't mistake donating commons or off condition cards to charity as proof of Gary being innocent. It only proves he has some moral fiber and found a way to make even more money from this scam (tax deduction).

I suspect Mr. Easley will have never heard of Mr. Daggett.

I agree. As I have said all long, he may have given some cards to charity or even had a charity to give cards to kids. However that does not mean the kids got all the cards that were donated. How do you think most people end up doing wrong? They are put in a position of power and or opportunity and their deceptive nature takes over. What once started out with good intentions ends up going terribly bad

You'll find most of his homemade garbage (including 75 mini packs) selling on Naxcom:

    Daggett on Naxcom
  • Gary Daggett has nothing to do with my Cards 4 Kids, Stamps 4 Kids, Coins 4 Kids or Business Cards 4 Kids program!

I'm currently collecting for Children's Hospital Central California! All Sports Cards, Stamps and Coins go to children at Children's Hospital Central California in Madera California. As for Business Cards 4 Kids, the program is a little different. Business Cards are autographed on the front by the person who's name is on the card and mailed in quantities of 5 or more. As a business card collector, I keep one of each business card for my collection and the rest are placed into Baseball Card Protectors that I pay for.

If you would like to start up a program for a hospital near you I would be happy to help. I'm only collecting for my local Children's Hospital so if you want to spread the collectibles around we need more people to do what I'm trying to do.

    Thanks!

I never said he was not donating cards. I don't know if he is or not. He just doesn't have anything to with me or what I have started.
