Thanks guys....I was not sure Naxcom would do anything, but I am sure they would not support behavior as mentioned. I was going to post his email reply, but I do not think that is allowed.

I wonder if the news of the Wagner sale has non-collectors diving in looking for mad money.
Then again, many of the bidders have less than 10 pts of feedback. Could be a lot of bogus bidding (or shilling) going on like other high publicity ebay auctions seem to attract.. i.e. bidders with names along the lines of "IWONTPAY" and "HAHASUCKER"

Since I'm the seller of said card, I give you permission to post my e-mail reply as well as my 2nd e-mail to you.
Listen, I don't feel good about backing out on the deal as it's not my MO but I was upfront about it. I very easily could have said: Oops not available, mistake in the listing, etc.
Hope this doesn't turn into the Net 54 post from yesterday.
Edited: I agree with Volver. You made the deal. Nut up and stick with it. If you are going to break your end off you have to be ready for people to be unhappy and possibly let others know.

<< <i>So go buy another box for $40, pull 2 Jeters, sell them, and save your good name. >>
I've offered the buyer, "Volver", a full refund of his whole order ($6.75) plus $10 as well as the promise of obtaining the same card to send to him within 2 weeks. By the end of the week this card will be readily available at $20 or less.
If he was looking to flip for a quick profit he wouldn't have had the card quickly enough to do so and if he wants it for his personal collection I will be able to deliver on that, just not a quickly as the rest of his order.
The price points are all over the place, some white are higher and vice versa. No rhyme or reason to any of this. I have not seen a print run on the reds, but I would venture to say they are far from an SP version.
Not much of a help I guess, but wanted to chime in.
I listed 4 whites and 1 red at 3:46pm All were sold before 4pm I had the money for all of them by 4:10
275 bucks in less than a half hour CRAZY!!!
Bring on Heritage!!

It looks like the current turn and burn number on these is around 60 bucks. I would look and see what the lowest BIN price is and then undercut that. Get in and get out.
1. Require immediate payment through PayPal. If very much time passes - a day or two - you can/will end up with alot of NPBs.
2. Insure the package that you send. Buyer's remorse can cause buyers to damage the package when it arrives, and file a chargeback.
3. If you are selling under your regular ID, put a few freebies in the package to take the sting out of the reality that will hit in a few days.
4. Do not invest all of your profits from early sales into more packs to try and repeat the process; your good fortune is a result of grace and luck, not skill.
Folks Who Bite Get Bitten. Folks Who Don't Bite Get Eaten.
Well, I decided to jump into the frenzy myself. Busted a box of hobby (10 packs, 50 cards per pack) early this afternoon and on the 2nd to the last card of pack 10 I hit a Jeter. Listed it with a $75 BIN with shipping included - lasted about an hour & half. I took Storm's advice and asked for immediate payment with PP. Done deal. Also pulled an Andrew Miller autograph, which I'll also put up. Those two cards basically paid for the other 498 plus left a little left over.
Guess I'll have to wait a few weeks to pick up a Jeter of my own.
Two auctions just ended over $300 bucks, I cant believe people are this stupid. Especially with Bin's like Geodies out there for $75 bucks. I have seen some Bin's for $49.99. Do these people even know how to use E-bay ?
a guy over at Beckett made a good point about the ongoing high prices:
<< <i>i dont think many of the buyers on ebay know the "newly listed" feature because if they did, no jeter base card could go up in $ with a few minutes left while all these 100s of new jeters that are being posted for what, $50 bin are not even getting hits....
all they gotta do is click the "newly listed"..... >>
I think that New York Daily News article sent the five boroughs into a buying panic - we'd have to assume that most of the buyers are complete eBay novices - they see these prices escalating in the final moments and think they're missing out on something.
I had a couple; I pulled from boxes. I had to jump on Frenzy. To Many times, I have been on the other end. Buy High..............................Sell Lower
Wow....Baseball Cards today reminded me of Stocks in 1999-2000.....Total Irrational Exuberance... The Convergence of different news stories caused a wave.....The T206 Wagner sale, the Attack on VP.....huge drop in stock market, "Yankee Pankee" front page Daily News.....Irrational Exuberance
Down from a intraday high of $317, Jeter cards are NOT selling at BIN $49.99 as of 8pm....
So many people flooded the market TODAY with this card (cause they are so common, like the 2006 Topps Mantle HR#1 card) that the price dropped and corrected itself in 1 day! Best part is the market for these cards doesnt close at 4pm EST...lets see how low they go by the morning...
Topps, Congrats on another free SPLASH done on purpose (aka A Gordon)!!!!
Even though I jumped in......................I think this shows the good, bad & ugly of Feebay. How would you feel if you $300 2 hrs ago, for a card now you get for 20-30% of that number.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

White is the "white back" selling for ?
Is the "red back" really more scarce than the "white back?"

I wonder if people are "preselling" these, based on just buying an unopened case in the next day or so. Not a bad idea really for scums

What makes these sellers "scums?" I don't see them holding a "mouse" to people's heads and making them bid....
I think a lot of these posts relate to sour grapes over not having a 2007 Jeter to sell because -- you know -- all modern is junk.
edit:
It's actually a pretty nice looking set. I'd buy a few blasters even if the Jeter card wasn't absurdly hot right now.

Absolutely.
I listed mine, about 30-minutes ago.
I kept looking for it in search, but it was not there;
slow-indexing, I thought.
Checked My eBay, and found the card had sold.
I am not clear why folks do not just go buy a box,
rather than paying high prices for one card.
I guess folks think this card is rare.
It is not. 13-packs yielded 2 (both white-backs).
Got a Delgado bat-card, and some Mantle stuff,
a couple of numbered cards, and a bunch of other
worthless stuff.
ya think?

the buyers do not hate me quite as much in the morning.

It will be funny - before too long - to see the "ending soonest" listings
at $100.00+, while the "newly-listed" listings are at $10.00 +/-.
With a 1 to 7 day spread, that is bound to happen.
I see a flock of NPBs in some folks' futures.
