Congrats everyone and some really great images are displayed. >>
In honor of reaching 200 posts (maybe a first for a strictly Barber related thread), all participants will send the originator of this thread, Barberman55 (Dan Flood), the nicest Barber in your collection - NOT. I thought it would be worth a try anyway. Thanks for all the great images and is 250 posts possible?
Glenn,
Love the 01-O and 02-O. The 02-O is noted for having a notorious weak strike on the reverse......your's has a great strike for this date, one of the best that I've seen. Congratulations on 2 great additions to your set.
Since I was feeling guilty, I dug out a bunch of my Barbers (primarily Quarters), and will be adding some images to this thread soon. In the meantime, here’s the reverse of my NGC63 1893-S quarter. I sort of like the color on this piece.
Dave
Always looking for original, better date VF20-VF35 Barber quarters and halves, and a quality beer.
Thanks for the comments. I take it that's the one your claiming and I have to send you?
NOT........
Good to see you Dr. Pete. And again congratulations on reaching complete GEM status in 2006 and your additional upgrades. As you and Tahoe Dale both have your photos available, well that's the standard by which all of us check in on for the halves. It's really great that both of you participate here so much for the rest of us.
For that matter so many others as well, Mike, Craig, Don, Dan, Tyler, Sunnywood etc. The Loyal Order of Barber is very much alive and well thanks to all who participate and share. Keep those images coming!

Nice toning, Dave !!
Mike Hayes ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Coin collecting is not a hobby, it's an obsession !
<< <i>Here are my 2 latest additions to my set. Both tough dates, both better struck than the average O mint coin for the 1900-1902 period although both have some weakness on the sinister claw and edge of sheild and fletchings.
The 01 is nice for the grade, probably a bit better than average thanks to the strike relative to others of this date. And the 02-O, well I LOVE THIS COIN a lot. The toning is stunning almost bordering on red and the fields while not captured in the photo are prooflike. A few minor slide marks and a small mark on the shield keep this out of gem but the eye appeal is just incredible.
Pop on the 01-O is 8 with 6 higher (a total of 26 PCGS MS graded), on the 02-O is 10 with 6 higher (a total of 30 PCGS MS graded). These are the third and 5th rarest Barber Halves in MS, both rarer than the 1901-S. Only the 96-O and 04-S are rarer, with the 1900-O ranking in between them in MS at #4.
Hope you enjoy looking and I will have these photographed by P8nt before too long.
The 1901-O was acquired in San Jose from Northern Nevada Coin via Folsom Coins and Currency this past weekend. Thanks Alan and Tim!
The 1902-O was acquired from Dave at Alpine, thanks Dave.

Two coins that are VERY nice. Thanks for showing us, Glenn !!
Mike Hayes ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Coin collecting is not a hobby, it's an obsession !
Here is my 1893-P pop 3 that is an ex-Tyler Child piece. 200+ posts. WOW. Anyone out there with circulatd quarters and dimes in the fine to AU range?
Mike also teased us with a NGC 1892-O micro O graded MS61 being auctioned by David Lawrence. With 4 days and 3 hours to go, it is at $13,000. I may have to put in a token bid of $16,000 for grins. However, an AU50 did not sell for $22,365 on Ebay in May 2005.
With regard to the NGC 62 1892-Micro O half on DLRC's current auction: I believe they expect it to get close to $35K.
Dan mentioned to me that there was an NGC 62 at HLRC last week; I saw it at the FUN show, but didn't examine it throughly; this could very well be the same coin, I can't say for sure.
Mike Hayes ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Coin collecting is not a hobby, it's an obsession !
This is the best I can do with limited camera abilities. The 1905 looks much better in hand (I guess everyone says that). The 1909 is probably a little lighter, but that image is close.
Edit: Sorry, they are quarters, I have not photographed the reverses, yet.
By the way, given Barber's penchant for shorter and more modern hairstyles (compare his "V" nickel to the Morgan dollar), I always assumed the flowing hair stella was designed by George Morgan, and the coiled hair by Charles Barber. I was surprised to learn some years back that it was the other way around.
Beautiful quarters, Greg and Bush'8! I could ALMOST get interested... hmmm
Also, Those patterns are simply wild!
Does this count as a Barber? I have not posted the image in the forum before, so I guess that can qualify as 'new' though it was purchased last summer (scratch on old holder).
Do your best to avoid circular arguments, as it will help you reason better, because better reasoning is often a result of avoiding circular arguments.
Don, The Hawaiian definetly counts. I saw a few at FUN..."almost" decided to buy a beautifully toned one in PCGS 63...but just couldn't bring myself to do it. Nice coin, DES.
Mr Breeze...those certainly are very pretty quarters... love the look of them.
Mike Hayes ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Coin collecting is not a hobby, it's an obsession !
Beautiful dime Casey and love those quarters Bushmaster. That is a sweet 1/2 Dala Don. Does anyone else have anymore Hawaiians? Maui was my first duty station in the Coast Guard back in 1986. I love the islands.
Here's a pop 6 1907-O that used to reside in an NGC XF45 holder. Coin was bought from JJ Teaparty.
Next is a pop 9 1908-D that I bought from Vcoins.
As for this last one, I don't have the books to know if Charles barber designed this half or not. However, it is from the same era. This half just glows at you and is only a MS64.
I'd rather post coin images this early Saturday morning then work on my Thesis.
Here's a pop 2 1902-S I bought from Heritage way back in early 2003.
The last coin in the series, 1915-S with a pop of 10 came from RCCoins on Ebay also back in 2003.
This next coin is the second highest pop in XF45 with 14. Can anyone guess which coin has a pop of 15 in the XF45 grade? This little 1912-D was bought from Sal's Collectables in 2003. I grade it closer to XF42.5.
I'm getting to my last images now. This 1903-S pop 5 was bought from Aurora Coin in 2003. I really like this one.
This turn of the century 1900-P with a pop of 8 comes from Gary Hultman. That man had great taste and I am honored to have some of his coins in my collection.
My last one for awhile is the 1915-D with a pop of.................15. This is the only coin I have that I don't have when I bought it or who I bought it from or for how much. If anyone can help me out, I would be much obliged.
That is the end of my Tru-View images. I just hope I can get my final coins Tru-Viewed. We have almost 230 posts. Pretty darn good for Barber coinage.
I love the look of the 03-S. Real nice toning near the rims, and super nice surfaces. The 02-S is also a real nice coin, one of the tougher dates in VF - AU grades.

Did any of you Barber freaks win the 1912s PCGS AU55 on teletrade last night?
If so it's only because Telesuck did not register my bid.
I put in a $25 higher bid than where it closed, because I had a $50 teletrade coupon, but the website did not accept my bid for some reason. I am bummed.
Thanks Craig, I have most of the tough ones. Working on the "common" ones now. I have two more 04-S, one is F12 and the other VG10. I post a few more pics later tonight
