  • After some snow delays, I received my gift today, and opened it right away.

My Secret Santa gave me some older football cards, just like I wanted!

I'll post some scans when I have a chance.

I received a card from the 1957 Topps set, which is a set that I have often considered collecting, but haven't started yet...

I also received several cards from the 1971 Topps game set, including Larry Brown and Tommy Nobis.

Lastly, my favorite part of the gift -- several cards from 1969 Topps, including a Dick Anderson RC and Johnny Unitas. The Johnny Unitas is a nice one. Johnny Unitas is one of my favorite players from that era, and I've considered collecting a player set of him.

As a side note, I saw the 1958 Championship game on TV last week. It was between the Colts and the Giants. It was a fantastic game, and it was a thrill to see so many of the stars playing -- Johnny Unitas, Charley Conerly, Frank Gifford, etc. It makes collecting even more fun when you get to see that.

Thanks for the nice gift, Edward!

That's awesome, I don't think I would know what to buy if it came to having to purchase a boxing gift. I think the only boxing stuff I have is of Max Schmeling and Joe Frazier. I guess I would have to search eBay to find something appropriate. Awesome stuff. Happy holidays!

Needless to say, Arthur was the only person who was interested in receiving boxing cards ( with no other option I might add). Thankfully though there was ONE Santa who wrote that he had boxing cards to give....knowing Griffins, I knew Arthur was in for some good stuff!!

Seems like the biggest part of the group is thrilled with their gift. A couple of givers disappointed, but that's bound to happen with so many involved.

My question......has everyone now received something???

The guy I sent to hasn't posted on any thread in a couple weeks.

    Hope all is well.

Happy Holidays to all of you.

I would have to go back through the thread but I think there may be 4 who have not reported their "gifts"....gregm13 did not get a gift because his Santa flew the coup so to speak (BSUballer) (Shawn: your gift went to him by the way)

If the three "other names" could post or at least PM me that they received their gift, it would put some Santa's at ease.

Some folks could be out of town etc

Bob, or "rd" gave me a great gift. As if the Morris rookie was not enough, he added a box of 1984 Donruss Action, which I never knew were in existence until very recently.
