I hope the New York city officials, Steinbrenner, the NY construction contractors and Yankee fans all receive a visit from the Ghosts of Yankee past, present and future regarding how important a historical monument Old Yankee Stadium is (even though it has been rennovated in 1976).

I know what you mean. Every time I walk by the tree, I get the urge to rip it open. I tucked it way in the back behind a bunch of other presents so I wont crack.
I find it hard to beleive that no one has cheated and opened up their gifts yet Of course I haven't opened up mine either.

The 1950 Bowman set is very colorful and has several icons of the game. I collect the set in PSA 5 through 7 and have found that the cards typically present very well in those grades. Good luck if you decide to go after the set.
Ok...I dont mean to sound like a scrooge, but I got the shaft.
I opened my package only to find a " gift " of cards that arent worth $5 on their best day.
Im not one to complain about things like this normally, but on this occasion I had to say something. Hopefully whoever it was who sent me my gift not only reads this thread in the days to come to see what others received, but got a great gift himself. Maybe then he might feel a slight bit of guilt over how bad he screwed me.
5 raw late 80's cards in EX-MT condition at best that might be worth a dime between them, and a PSA 7 and Mattingly card from the late 80's that isnt worth $4 in PSA 9.
Seriously, thanks alot whoever you are and happy holidays

Hello bri2327,
This thread cannot take a wrong turn, because of this special joyous day of giving and yes, the wonderful things that I'm sure, will be posted here! Myself, I have received a wonderful gift from my secret santa. So much so, that money was no object for this "very kind and generous" secret santa of mine!
So much so, that the "spirit of giving" this time of the year, has just overwhelmed me, and bri2327, I promise you, just PM me your mailing address, and it will be my pleasure to make this a joyous holiday for you too! I will enjoy sending you something special.
Whatever reason, your secret santa "dropped the ball", it doesn't matter that he didn't follow the rules. You are going to receive something special from me, so pleeeeeeze bri2327, PM me, as u do not deserve anything less than the thrill I got, opening up the following from my secret santa:
1. I received not one box, but would you believe two boxes. The first one included a 1978 PSA 9 Roy White that I need for my PSA set, and a lot of (4) 1979 PSA 9s, that are just great!
2. Then, bam! The first box also contained a lot of (8) great looking 1911 - T113 Nation Cards (Non-Sport), one couldn't ask for a better gift.
3. Then, much to my amazement! I opened box number 2. And wow! A complete set of 1978 Topps Basketball cards, all "pack fresh", and all in great condition! You heard me right! A complete 132 card set (all near-mint to mint!)...
I'm floored, stuned, speechless, humbled, and crushed (well, I'm never speechless! ), I'm so gassed-up from this, that words cannot describe the kindness, thoughtfulness, the time and effort it took to put this set together, from scratch, from opening up wax boxes, all those wax packs, and the "joy of giving" this secret santa felt, any monetary guide that was set, for this gift exchange, was set aside like "The Dukes of Hazzard" blowing through a road block!
Here are the scans of my gift(s) and highlights from the wonderful 1978 Topps basketball set.
Thanks so much to my secret santa! He has complete understanding of the meaning of "joy of giving"! I almost forgot to mention the nice, thoughtful letter that accompanied my wonderful gifts.
Thank you Santa! (i.e., David, aka: packman)
rd
Wow! The complete 132 card set looks as nice as these!
Come on guys its Christmas! Anyone who feels slighted pm me your address and your wish!
Merry Christmas Everyone!
My secret santa sent me some great items that matched my wish list to perfection: Not 1 but 2 autographed hockey pucks from Boston Bruins legends and Hall of Famers Milt Schmidt and Fernie Flaman. If that wasn't enough he also sent me the 1984 HHOF edition of the Hockey News which featured the induction of Boston Bruin legend Phil Esposito. Also inducted were Bernie Parent and Jacques LeMaire.
Guys cheer up, this is a season to give, not to recieve...Those who gave much more than than recieved, a blessing to you. Those who signed up, and didn't ship out a thing, shame on you. It's not about what you got for Christmas, it's about being apart of this board among friends and enjoying each others post. Helping each other out with questions, and fellowshipping with one another. I personally don't care about my gift, I'm just happy I got a chance to make someone else happy. It makes me feel good, It seems so many of us got a bummer deal, let us remember there are folks living in this world who have never recieved anything. I think thats a bummer deal.
Remember God gave us the greatest gift of all this Christmas, born in a manger 2000 years ago a child was born. This child has the power to save the world, This Child is Christ our Lord. Thats the greatest gift of all.
Guys, it's not the $$$ amount at all, it's the matching of the gift description!!!! When you ask for any 50s-70s HOF and you get 91 & 92 cards, that's where the problem is. Its not at all about the $$$.

After breaking down and busting all my packs early on the 80's football break, I'm proud of myself!!

RIP GURU
Merry Christmas Everyone!
My secret santa sent me some great items that matched my wish list to perfection: Not 1 but 2 autographed hockey pucks from Boston Bruins legends and Hall of Famers Milt Schmidt and Fernie Flaman. If that wasn't enough he also sent me the 1984 HHOF edition of the Hockey News which featured the induction of Boston Bruin legend Phil Esposito. Also inducted were Bernie Parent and Jacques LeMaire.
Awesome gifts!
Thanks J.F.W.....I mean Santa!

It makes me feel good,
It seems so many of us got a bummer deal, let us remember there are folks living in this world who have never recieved anything. I think thats a bummer deal.
Remember God gave us the greatest gift of all this Christmas, born in a manger 2000 years ago a child was born.
This child has the power to save the world, This Child is Christ our Lord. Thats the greatest gift of all.
