Much better star power in pack 2 but most cards were oc with corner dings and top edge damage. I scanned the two HOF’ers (Stevie Y is a lock) and the Middleton which may 10. I scanned the Tonelli ‘cuz I didn’t remember him going to the Flames even though 87 was his 3rd season there.

Remember when the Jimmy Carson RC was a hot card? In LA when they were rookies, Carson & Robitaille cards had the same value.
Sorry I'm late with these. Nice card design, reminds me of '69 and '74 Topps with the hockey stick motif. Okay pack as far as cards sharpness and quality. Here's the highlights:
1988 Topps - almost all commons except for Gilmour, Neely, and Peter Stastny. Some cards had slight surface indentations from the gum. Never liked the 'tacky' design. I did like the vertical backs. Nice all-star insert card.
Way back when I opened my 84 Donruss pack out of order since I was preparing a submission for PSA. Got it back today and the one card I submitted turned out alright.....scan attached.
Here are the best cards from yesterday's 1987 rip...
Also (all OC L-R): Mike Ridley / Capitals Mark Hunter / Blues Ron Duguay / Rangers Doug Bodger / Penguins Dana Murzyn / Whalers Greg Adams / Devils (nice centering, but wax stained)
I am absolutely LOVING this hockey bust so far --- my '87's were great --- pulled a stellar Adam Oates RC. It's a bit OC, a surefire 9 or 10 otherwise. I grew up in Minneapolis in the '80s and Dino Ciccarelli was my fav player as a kid until Brett Hull emerged (U of Minn Duluth alum).
Even with the centering, I may still submit the Oates using the $5 special this month.
Thanks again for organizing this bust, Bob. I'm already ready to do it again!

Bob - The Roy is probably a 9. You probably blocked it from your memory but the former coach of the B's was the much beloved (until he became coach) Steve Kasper. The night he benched Cam Neely in Maple Leaf Gardens for an entire game was the day his tenure in Boston unofficially ended.
<< <i> Remember when the Jimmy Carson RC was a hot card? >>
I was a Carson collector, mainly when he was in Detroit. He was a 50 goal guy and he came to Edmonton in the Gretzky trade. Last I saw he was an insurance broker. (I think I paid about $9 for his OPC rookie. At that time I was buying anything of Carson and Robitaille pictured in those old Kings uniforms.)
Not quite so lucky on this pack though they are centered and look great! Neal Broten Paul MacLean Greg Johnson checklist 1-99 Brian Lawton Keith Brown Patrick Sundstrom Larry Robinson Tim Kerr Keith Crowder Steve Thomas Mike Ramsey
I'll tell ya....I LOVE these hockey cards. I am inspired to collect raw sets after the holidays!
my 2 packs grant fuhr soft corner, little off top to bottom ray bourque all star oc tom barasso sabres! perfect centering, soft corner dennis maruk played for seals, barons, northstars glen hanlon redwings another goalie oc mark messier pretty nice except for bend/crease on bottom, will come back to esa tikkanen 9ish pat verbeek oc
phil housley gary nylund rick wamsley blues goalie perfect centering, soft corner john anderson whalers 9 or 10 checklist soft corners
the messier card has some sort of damage on the bottom , a crease. the bottom of the card was folded up a bit leaving this terrible crease shaped like a semi circle.
<< Bob - The Roy is probably a 9. You probably blocked it from your memory but the former coach of the B's was the much beloved (until he became coach) Steve Kasper. The night he benched Cam Neely in Maple Leaf Gardens for an entire game was the day his tenure in Boston unofficially ended. >>
Really!?!
Where the hell was I?
I remember Neely getting benched but not Kasper doing it.
Oh well...must have killed one too many brain cells that year!

I've watched almost every Bruins game religiously since I met Bobby Orr as a youngun. (Except for 95 & 96 it appears) This is by far the most pathetic group of horseshyt that has ever donned the spoked B.
Harry Sinden should have grown a pair last year or even two years ago and fired Mike O'Connell BEFORE letting him dismantle the team. ( See Thornton, Samsonov, Raycroft, Knuble, Rolston etc, etc...)
I've watched about two periods total this season...pathetic!
Worked in the hockey ops department for David Poile as an intern during their inaugural season ('98-99) ... been a die hard fan ever since. Even got to meet "The Great One" when he and the Rangers were in town (it was his final season).
It appears it may have been worth the wait. They're actually a pretty strong club now!
Alexander Radulov will be a BEAST for years to come. If you haven't heard of him yet, you will. I guarantee it.

I would be grateful for any gradeable commons from next week's '85-86 bust.
I'll gladly trade or even pay.

esa tikkanen 9ish
pat verbeek oc
phil housley
gary nylund
rick wamsley blues goalie perfect centering, soft corner

checklist soft corners
the messier card has some sort of damage on the bottom , a crease. the bottom of the card was folded up a bit leaving this terrible crease shaped like a semi circle.

I once bled black n gold...now I just bleed.

I have wanted to build a hockey set for a while now (since getting back in collecting). I have been thinking about it and have decided to go with '85-86 Topps. Tomorrow's bust is '86-87 .... but next week we bust '85-86.
I would be grateful for any gradeable commons from next week's '85-86 bust.
I'll gladly trade or even pay.
Thanks guys!
Can't wait for the '86 tomorrow!
