Who's the dude behind Cox in the white shirt? He doesnt look like he even belongs in the dugout! The old Pirates cards are great where they are wearing the flat top caps! Bob Forsch had quite the afro going! haha! I also love the old Expos cards...I used to go see them all the time. They are sorely missed by some of us!
i had forgotten about the bevaqua error but as soon as i saw the card i immediately checked the hat. love those george foster cards - slugger! the gum smelled funny back in '81 and it still does . i cant believe anyone tried it.
<< <i>Cough, cough, hack, hack... That gum was awful!! It just disintegrated in my mouth! Spit, spit, spit...
I might qualify for the losingest pack of the box! Here are my "highlights" >>
Hoof, I think I got you beat. Awful. Just Awful. Not a single highlight to speak of in my pack although I did pull a few Yankees (Randolph, Brown, Watson, Gamble). Oh well, better luck next rip!

i guess you waited 25 years, what is another week. actually it pretty nice compared to rest of the pack.
I feel pretty lucky. Centering was good for 81 Fleer. Top and bottom few cards were slightly worn on the corners, but many of the best cards were in the center of the stack.
The Best Stuff (In Scan Below): Rob Picciolo 8 Eddie Murray 8 Al Hrabosky 8 I wandered into his bar in St Louis last week Carl Yastrzemski 8 (OC?) George Brett 8+ beautiful card, slight touch to corners, but might be a 9 Moose Haas 8 Lou Piniella 8
The Others: 21 George Vukovich 8 Perfect Centering 90 Rudy May 7 349 Mike Squires 8 424 Doug Ault 8 459 Steve Kemp 8 464 Dave Rozema 8 512 Charlie Moore 7 549 Mike Ramsey 7 556 Bombo Rivera (Bombo?) 7 577 Jeff Newman 8
There isn't anything I'd definitely send to PSA, but maybe the Brett someday during a $5 grading special. Do any of the above have rare variations?
Here are a few pics. Only one HOF...bruce sutter. Cards and condition
Pat Underwood: OC top to bottom Wayne Gross: OC top to bottom Dave Ford: Slightly OC left to right Jerry White: OC top to bottom Richie Hebner: Nearly centered Bruce Sutter: Slightly OC left to right. This card appeared in the top. So the corners are not SUPER sharp. but still good. Mickey Rviers: OC left to right Glenn Hubbard: OC top to bottom Jose Cruz: Slightly OC left to right PReston Hanna: Nearly Centered Dan Ford: Nearly Centered Steve Renko: Slightly OC left to right Tom Griffin: Slightly OC left to right Jim Anderson: OC left to right Ron Oester: Slightly OC left to right Bill North: OC left to right Dave Goltz: OC left to right
I have a complete collection of this set (bought it for $15 a few years ago). And, as expected, centering is the major issue.
I'm waiting for my new scanner to come but I pulled
Ernie Whitt Alex Trevino Joe Simpson Mike Lum Mark Bomback Manny Trillo Barry Foote Steve Yeager Jerry Remy Ed Figueroa Ken Macha Frank Tanana Jim Sundberg Pete Falcone Joe Ferguson Bert Campaneris Bob Stanley
A few oc but most very nice a couple possible 10's with the absolute best being the Bob Stanley.

Well, my pack had nearly all OC cards with the exception of one decently centered one...the NNO Triple Threat card. All other cards were 80/20 left to right at best.

Mike - love that Ryan card!! That's the envy of the thread, but that's coming from an "old fart", so take it with a grain of salt...
This is great seeing all these names and faces again on these old (25 years already?!) cards. For some reason, that Sparky Anderson shot really struck me as being a classic. That one's a keeper!
I need to go check to see if I had any potential 10s per an earlier post... bbs
I got Fernando (tilt cut), Andre Dawson (centered, but touched corner), and Finger (off center top to bottom). Those are notibles. All the commons were off center or had touches on the top left corner.
Always buying 1984 Ralston Purina PSA 9s and 10s I NEED 19,21, and 29!!!
I won't list all my pulls, but I did pull a Carew, Schmidt, and a pristine Don Zimmer manager card(I will be sending this one in!). All the others weren't any big names but the best condition-wise was the Zimmer so I'm happy about that pack!

Wow. I had a pretty lousy rip. These are the "highlights". No one else of any note, really. Still, it was fun, and the Cox card is kind of cool.
