Wow. I had a pretty lousy rip. These are the "highlights". No one else of any note, really. Still, it was fun, and the Cox card is kind of cool.

Looking forward to Sunday. No way to go but up...

Who's the dude behind Cox in the white shirt? He doesnt look like he even belongs in the dugout!
The old Pirates cards are great where they are wearing the flat top caps!
Bob Forsch had quite the afro going! haha!
I also love the old Expos cards...I used to go see them all the time. They are sorely missed by some of us!

I feel pretty lucky. Centering was good for 81 Fleer. Top and bottom few cards were slightly worn on the corners, but many of the best cards were in the center of the stack.

The Best Stuff (In Scan Below):
    Rob Picciolo 8
    Eddie Murray 8
Al Hrabosky 8 I wandered into his bar in St Louis last week
    Carl Yastrzemski 8 (OC?)
George Brett 8+ beautiful card, slight touch to corners, but might be a 9
    Moose Haas 8
    Lou Piniella 8

    The Others:
21 George Vukovich 8 Perfect Centering
    90 Rudy May 7
    349 Mike Squires 8
    424 Doug Ault 8
    459 Steve Kemp 8
    464 Dave Rozema 8
    512 Charlie Moore 7
    549 Mike Ramsey 7
    556 Bombo Rivera (Bombo?) 7
    577 Jeff Newman 8

    image

There isn't anything I'd definitely send to PSA, but maybe the Brett someday during a $5 grading special. Do any of the above have rare variations?

Here are a few pics. Only one HOF...bruce sutter. Cards and condition

Pat Underwood: OC top to bottom
Wayne Gross: OC top to bottom
Dave Ford: Slightly OC left to right
Jerry White: OC top to bottom
    Richie Hebner: Nearly centered
Bruce Sutter: Slightly OC left to right. This card appeared in the top. So the corners are not SUPER sharp. but still good.
Mickey Rviers: OC left to right
Glenn Hubbard: OC top to bottom
Jose Cruz: Slightly OC left to right
    PReston Hanna: Nearly Centered
    Dan Ford: Nearly Centered
Steve Renko: Slightly OC left to right
Tom Griffin: Slightly OC left to right
Jim Anderson: OC left to right
Ron Oester: Slightly OC left to right
Bill North: OC left to right
Dave Goltz: OC left to right

I have a complete collection of this set (bought it for $15 a few years ago). And, as expected, centering is the major issue.

    Ok...

the gum was stuck to the top card......

    Elias Sosa
    Frank Taveras
    Terry Crowley
    Pete Vuckovich
    Stan Bahnsen
    Joe Torre
    Mike Schmidt
    Stan Papi
    Ray Burris
    Tug McGraw
    Willie McCovey
    Dick Davis
    Tom Hausman
    Keith Moreland
    John Montefusco
    Enos Cabell

I don't know squat about these but recognized these 4. The one is pretty far OC.
My boy just tried about half of the stick of gum. He says......."It's not like gum but it's not bad. I swallowed it"

    625 Buddy Bell - Rangers
412 Jim Clancy - Blue Jays
429 Jerry Garvin - Blue Jays

Mike - love that Ryan card!! That's the envy of the thread, but that's coming from an "old fart", so take it with a grain of salt... image

This is great seeing all these names and faces again on these old (25 years already?!) cards. For some reason, that Sparky Anderson shot really struck me as being a classic. That one's a keeper!

I need to go check to see if I had any potential 10s per an earlier post... bbs
