I hope I am in the Circle ... that dang Carl one mailed me $1,000 in coins with my check passing the coins on the way ... Numerous other transactions with great board members, as well.

    I remember when I was a lad,
times were hard and things were bad.
But there's a silver lining behind every cloud.
Just poor people, that's all we were.
Trying to make a collection out of coin show dirt.
We'd get together in a family circle singing loud.

    Russ bought halves,
    TomB bought toners.
Me and little brother would join right in there.
Collecting seems to help a troubled soul.
One of these days and it won't be slow.
I'll rejoin them at a show.
I'm gonna join the family circle at the Throne.
No, the circle won't be broken.
By and by, Lord, by and by.

    Lucy bought Franks,
    Dragon got Morgans.
Me and little brother would join right in there.
In the sky, Lord, in the sky.

Hmmm.... I would have to say that I am not in the circle, but that I am in a triangle that slightly overlaps part of the circle.

But you've got to let it out...
Am I in or am I out?
If you say that I am out,
I'm gonna sit around and pout.

But you've gotta let it out, out out out...

    I think that surprises me.

Did he not just disappear for a very long period of time about a year or so ago?

That's what I get for being away for so long.

Ahhh - but are you in the INNER Circle of Trust?

I am definitely not in the INNER™. Legend told me so.image
  • When I first made a deal on these board I expected my check to be held. I was quite surprise to receive the coin well before my check cleared.

This is when I found out about the "circle".

The trust in this circle is not to be toyed with. There are very few places anymore where a man is taken on his word.

The following memeber showed me the "circle"

Wayne Herndon, Boom, BigD5, there are many others who I cannot remember (age is a MO FO)

I still will respect anyone who feels they need to hold my check. It takes awhile to realize that the circle is in place and the "normal" world make us fearful

Sorry, RYK. I am crashing this thread regardless.

  • But TDN, have you considered the possibility that the Circle of Trust, as shown, is actually an annulus, which therefore excludes the INNER™ Circle of Trust as a subset ????

Personally, I prefer more dimensionality. I am a member of the Sphere !!

  • I think it might be an indication that you are "in the circle of trust" when you PM a fellow member regarding a coin he/she has for sale and then it is in the mail before you know how much shipping or how to pay. I have experienced this a few times and it is gratifying.image

Not knowing about the Circle™ earlier cost me a great coin at a great price. A few years ago, in my pre-Circle™ days, a now-forum friend offered me a 1909-O $5 AU-58 at a very good price (for then). Because I did not know about the Circle™, I was uncomfortable and did not pursue the transaction. If I knew then what I know now about the other party, I would have bought the coin. image

  • I`m so far out of the Circle, I couldn`t get Russ to make me a deal on a 64 JFK in ms.....

anyway... now that the thread is back...let's get it up to 100 so RYK can finally get a thread of his to get to the century mark... image
