I think he has two - "museum_of_sports_history" and something like "the_way_we_walk" but I might be butchering it. His office is near where I live (I live in a suburb of Chicago).

Collecting vintage auto'd fb cards and Dan Marino cards!!
Bill. We're practically neighbors. I live in Bolingbrook, about 20 south of Interstate 80 on IL 55 (if you know where that is). I'll be passing your neck of the woods on Friday - on my way to Michigan w/ my wife to see her family (we pass through Ind on Interstate 80).
By the way, the 7's I have are:
#2, #10 (Alworth), #32, #36, #40, #59, #68, #72, #104, #115 (L Brown), #124, #134, #138, #149, #161, #163, #165, #174, #182, #201, #202, #220, #228, #240, #249. I also have #113 Houston rc but I want to hold onto it for my HOF rc set until I get an 8.
I'm asking $5 each dlvd or $4.50 each dlvd for all. They're all high end 7s.

Greg M.
Collecting vintage auto'd fb cards and Dan Marino cards!!
Bill - I received the Casper and love it!!! Thanks again!! For whatever reason, the 77's have been tough for me. It and the 74 set are the only two in which I haven't bought a raw set or much unopened product. I bought several rack packs a while back and they were beat to hell. I pulled two Casper's but both were exmt at best.

Hey Football Card Store. you goy some super nice cards ! Any chance of giving a discount to board members? Also, will you ever have an online store? Super nice stuff, Thanks for dropping by.........
I had a web store, but moved into the eBay Store because it was just easier. Thanks very much.
Discount? I think my prices are pretty competitive as far as the other FB websites go. But I am always open to offers. I used to post here more often, but I'm always up for a good football thread.
Yes it was a good deal on those Wonder Bread sets, I think.
Much thanks Greg, if I submitted the card, I only aim for PSA 10, so if it's a 9 or 8, it's going to look high end. Of course not all the cards I have were submitted by me, so I will have some more averge looking grades.
No but not because I don't like it, it just doesn't sell well. Not even $10 a PSA 9 sometimes.
Now I do have some 1977 GAI 8.5 & 9 Raks stashed away just in case that changes. Besides 1971, I think 1977 is my favorite 70s set, followed very close by 1974 & 1970.
I have enjoyed this thread from the sideline but decided I had to comment on one of the sillier posts I have ever seen on here. One of the guys is asking, just asking for MOSH to jump in on the 77 Mexican because they are hard. That's insane. This guy will knock up down, take your lunch, eat your lunch and then the metal lunch box. Take your sneakers and your then your lucky sox. He'll rip the band off your tighties whities pulling it over your head. You end up with a nose bleed and go home crying to Mommy. Geez and that is if he likes you. He doesn't have money, he has MONEY. Hard is no problem because that much money opens doors. Doors you didn't even know were there. This is the kind of guy that would pay 3X or more book for a nice complete set. Then buy opened boxes and cases and grade the whole lot. He will start at 100% and then upgrade like you have never seen. Competing with this guy is financial suicide. Then he will buy out every decent card from every dealer. Your not even a speck in the rear view mirror. The prices become so high you are forced out or become a seller. Why not ask for malaria? At least you die in a few weeks and it's over. This is like begging for the Borg. After this guy hits, the prices are never the same. He hit 66 T FB and took off. Cards that were $250 before he came along cannot be touched under $400 and that is after he got them. He leaves a wake in the prices that is unbelievable and undeniable. You have two chances to survive. If you can force him into a card buy card set, he may not have the focus to get you right away but will run you down in time. OR he doesn't play. There are guys in 60's FB that spend six figures a year. Look at what he has done there. I suggest you be afraid ....... very afraid.
77 Mexican is though but not impossible. I have seen a complete set. I have seen unopened boxes and I have seen an unopened case. He will grade everything. He hides his sets but there have been a few that he missed and you can see, he grades everything. OC, MC, 4's whatever. He starts at 100% or buys the biggest bulk possible. Whether the card is worth grading does not enter into the equation. $4k in grading fees to enter a set with lower grade cards seems common place. Son, be careful what you ask for, you just might get it. I thought I could handle that fight once as well............. unless your name is Fogel or Gates or the like.... your probably out of your league. Ask Skinsfan, Wolfbear, Nearmint, FabFrank, Evanov or any of these 60's players, I suspect that you will not find a one that would invite that fight.
Sorry for the rant. Am working on most of the 70's sets but in the background as a low prioirity and have none registered so you may see me around from time to time. Good Luck to all, Fuzz
Wanted: Bell Brands FB and BB, Chiefs regionals especially those ugly milk cards, Coke caps, Topps and Fleer inserts and test issues from the 60's. 1981 FB Rack pack w/ Jan Stenerud on top.
Fuzz is right. People used to say "Fear the Fuzz" and all the other football collectors he mentioned in his post are not shy about paying aggressive prices for their cards. But if we are the great whites in the collecting ocean, MOSH is a Megaladon. "Heed the Fuzz"
<< <i> He doesn't have money, he has MONEY. Hard is no problem because that much money opens doors. Doors you didn't even know were there. >>
Well that explains it. I had pulled even with him on one particular set, with one elusive PSA 10 floating around out there missing from both of our sets, separating each of us from highest graded on each card. I watched and watched, scouring the web looking for this GEM baby. Next thing I know, VIOLA!!! It's nestled right in there in his set. The only hope now is for that second one to get graded ...
Fuzz, I enjoyed reading your post immensely. Art your acronym for MOSH is thoroughly amusing.
Mike, I’m not too worried about week 1. What was it they put in your quarterback, a catheter? Are you talking about the pink dress you’ll be wetting next Sunday, while praying that the hurting stops? I’ll try to go easy on you, maybe only start half the team.
Here's Mike progressing from Sunday morning until Sunday night next week.
I'm at work.... I'm thinking of buying the 1986 cut card case from BBC Exchange. I've never opened one before. I've heard that the quality isn't as good as vending/wax/cello. Any personal experiences?

<< <i>The prices become so high you are forced out or become a seller. >>
... although if you're thinking of selling, that's not a bad marketing plan!
Hey Fuzz,
It's nice to see you're still keeping Art honest. I haven't dabbled in the '66 football in a while. As a matter of fact, the last time I placed a bid on a '66 card ... Art e-mailed me in like 2 seconds saying ... "Hey Mike, I really NEED that card. Please don't bid it up any higher! You're Buddy, Art"
Greg, I have heard that cut card cases can be very poor in quality as far as oc and miscuts. you may want to think aboout spending the same amount of money on Steve's 86 cello boxes if he still has them.
I am new to the PSA family. I have enjoyed your posts and just wanted to jump in. I am starting the 1978 Topps Football set and any info or help would be greatly appreciated. I purchased a cut card case of cuts C and D a couple months ago. Centering was tough, but there were so many cards that a few were decent. The black dot over John Stallworths head had me concerned how it would be graded but I believe Zef purchase 2 of my raw Stallworths and had them grade a 8 and a 9 (a bit shocked). Other things, a yellow dot on all my John Hannahs? can 60/40 centering get a 10 or just a 9? Tons of cards have fuzzy edges, and with the cut card case there were a ton of surface creases. All in all though I was happy with the case.
Welcome, not sure about the Hannah cards never given them much of a look. Forget about the creased cards, you'll get PSA 5s and PSA 6s even if they look perfect otherwise. The Stallworth dot is very common and found on a vast majority of his cards that year. No dot cards in PSA 8, 9, and 10 go for major premiums. I think a PSA 10 needs 55/45 or better. Again welcome!
Grader of Doom strikes again. These are about a grade lower than a very similar lot I had graded 45 days ago.

The 72's are for sale then heading to E-Bay. I have about 100 76 Topps FB in PSA 8, if anyone is interested I can send a list. The Gene Simmons PSA 10 was a total surprise....a truly 1 of 1
All right boys, I'll jump into the fray. I've decided to try a 1971 Football set in PSA 6-8 with maybe a few 9's thrown in. As long as it averages out to a 7 then I'll be happy.
This was the first football set that I had as a kid and still remember when I went to the corner store and blew 50 cents on 10 packs of cards. All the other kids were buying candy and gum and they thought I was crazy, but they all gathered around when I opened them. Those were the days.
Anyway, does anyone have any insight to this set? Which cards are the toughest? How is centering overall?

It doesnt look like he has everything listed yet, but maybe by tommorrow he will ! yeah Steve !

Took me a while to read through.
Good luck with your sets!

Football set and any info or help would be greatly appreciated. I purchased a cut card case of cuts C and D a couple
months ago. Centering was tough, but there were so many cards that a few were decent. The black dot over John
Stallworths head had me concerned how it would be graded but I believe Zef purchase 2 of my raw Stallworths and
had them grade a 8 and a 9 (a bit shocked). Other things, a yellow dot on all my John Hannahs? can 60/40 centering
get a 10 or just a 9? Tons of cards have fuzzy edges, and with the cut card case there were a ton of surface creases.
All in all though I was happy with the case.
Also Bill nice grades on the 77 Mexicans!

Thanks,
Walt
