Just got a goodie in the ol mailbox today. This one is a real pain to find in high grade. There are only 2 PSA 10s and 2 PSA 9s. I am glad I scooped this one up cheap. I rather have a PSA 10 but I don't want to pay outrageous price for it. Someone had a PSA 10 example on ebay for 400+ not to long ago. I declined to bother with that really high price. For now I am settling for this until an upgrade comes along at the right price.
today's mail brought the final card I needed for my '33 Goudey Dodger set. It's also my first SGC holder, and now that I've seen one in person, I'm in love. I might have to get the rest of 'em slabbed now.
my only beef is the snow on the black background inside the holder. Nothing I can do about that, either.
Goye, this thread has gotten so large that it sometimes appears that our posts haven't registered. In reality they have, you simply have to bump the page number up manually by increasing the page number at the very end of the web address by 1 digit.
Got one graded and two raw cards to be graded for my '62 set. I'm in single digits for the number of cards I need to complete my master and basic sets, including the green-tint variations not included in the master listing.
Playing catch up from the past few weeks on some of my favorite additions starting with some newbies/upgrades for my FB HOF RC set. The Battles also fits nicely into my ghetto Chicle set and fellow board member otwcards was kind enough to give me a terrific deal on it to boot (thanks again Scott!):
A few more additions to my Sweetness collection starting with a roughly 16"x16" display piece featuring an actual piece of Soldier Field used during Payton's reign in the original box, followed by an Environmint silver card commemorating his HOF induction, and lastly a signed football from the Walter Payton Foundation (WPF) that I got for a great price to start with and used my Q310 eBay Bucks on to make it a steal:
This final group are additions to my defunct football league collection starting with an NFL Europa official ball which has been elusive given the league only used Europa vs. Europe in its final season of play, next from the other end of the spectrum is an unused ticket from the very first World Bowl (the WLAF/NFLE Super Bowl), and lastly I managed to pick up a WFL coaster set with the (often god awfully) colored coasters opposed to the all white ones:
Here are a couple recent pickups for my Set Registry:
This one fills a hole:
This one is an upgrade from a PSA 6. I've been monitoring eBay for months waiting for a copy of this card that was centered left-right. It came up as a BIN with a great price and free shipping!
I go through periods of picking up HOF and All-Time RCs and not....currently in the pick up period. They should have put "Halfback/Wide Receiver", thats a lot of catches for a FB or RB in a time when football did not really pass.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

Yes in an Angels uniform. The card above is the last Topps card he was in the pinstripes.
I bought from 1 seller all these cards. There were multiples of each and these are the ones that have a shot.
The white specs are from my scanner and are not on the cards...

<< <i>I received this original copy of SCD from a boardmember here - he didn't sign his note - but I'm pretty sure I know who it is!

IP signing (at a Walgreen's no less...) best $5 I've spent in a while.
Another IP signing. Purchased his book as well. Haven't read the book yet.
Two NASCAR HOFers, I'm sure. No idea on authenticity. The price was right, though. Anybody know if they're good?
