I did it. Moved all the way from Alaska. I love my job. I'm managing one of the greatest numismatic collections in the country. When I'm done I may think about moving on, we'll see. :-) I've been working in coin shops since I was seven so it's like home to me. Robin
Because to Err is Human. I specialize in Errors, Minting, Counterfeit Detection & Grading. Computer-aided grading, counterfeit detection, recognition and imaging.
Judging from the coin dealers I just saw at my first coin show(Houston TNA), I'd have to loose a couple teeth, start smoking, loose some hair so I could do the combover and be relocated to a small central Texas town.(These guys were the nicest and quite helpful).
If your talking about working for a large company or grading service that would be pretty cool.
ed. to add: nearly forgot I have lost two teeth so I guess you can mark that one off. I'll start on the hair thing next.
I have often told my G/F that I would love to find some type of work in the numismatic field. I would really love to be a representative, or man a table for a major dealer at coin shows. Since I don't have any true roots anywhere, relocation is not a problem.
Best,
John
Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set: 1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S. Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!
If I knew I could earn my current salary (or higher), I would definitely make a career of numismatics. I'd especially like to work for one of the big auction houses researching and cataloging currency, and I wouldn't mind moving to Texas
I'd love to but I am still learning like Julio. Although if they do alot of bullion which I know quite a bit about I could work my way into the fun stuff. Then again it's all the fun stuff. btw I live outside of Phoenix.

Are you kidding......who in their right mind would take a job that pays nothing.
Now if it actually pays something then I would be earning more....so yes I would quit what I'm doing now for a numismatic career.
I can not relocate, small children, like where I live.....
