The first coin looks DCAM. If both photos were taken under the same conditions I would (and did) vote #1. If it is the same coin, if neither or both are DCAM the poll is flawed...

Has your camera or photographing technique changed in the past few years? If no, and if #2 is DCAM while #1 isn't, I'd say Hall's attempt to prove standards are the same is flawed.

Both were imaged recently. The first three months ago, the second yesterday. Same lampshade, same lighting. There really is no attempt to make one look better than the other.

I voted the obvious. If either of them is DCAM, it's #1. But I have a feeling there's more to the story........

Frankies were one of the first. And it was before Y2K. I think I recall green label DCAM Frankies so that would put it before 1996. Anyway it isn't an issue here.

If the photos aren't doctored too much---both should be DCAM.

Coin #2 is the dcam, but a weak one. Coin one has several frost breaks, particularly at the top left of the bell lumber. JMO

I'll go with #2. By the photos #1 has it beat. However, I'd have to consider the 3 years span in grading, and, of course, Russ's trickery.

The second coin is the one designated DCAM. It's graded PR66DCAM, cert # 2875857. It's a seven digit blue label with the bar code on the back. That puts the grading period at four plus years ago, maybe a bit earlier. Just one of many, many coins I've seen and handled from that era that would not regrade the same if submitted today. I don't trust coins from this era unless I can buy them sight-seen in-hand.

The first coin was graded PR69CAM cert #21904640 in March of this year.

It was one of three PCGS PR66CAMs that I picked off on Teletrade. Somebody had submitted them with crappy flips, so they hazed over and got graded low. I cracked them out, dipped them and resubmitted them. The others went 68CAM and 66CAM.

I guess this is one case where dipping helped. It sure helped the value of that coin.

I called them some months ago with this very question. The Customer Service Rep., after checking, told me he thought it was 1991 for Cameo and about a year later for Deep Cameo.
