I just got a box of 21 coins back from PCGS and...

17 of them must have been slabbed before lunch, then the sealing guys went and smoked a huge BONG! Came back from lunch and did this, only on the 25 cent coins! DUDE LOOK THERE'S A CHICK ON THIS ONE!!! I'M SO STONED!!!

It doesn't really work with the newer slabs...

image Didn't that video that was posted previously state that every slab gets checked by a high level Quality Type and the Production Manager before going to the Shipping Department? Both of them need to be talked to on this one! A PR69DCAM by PCGS should not be delivered to any Customer like this! Not Good, not good at all. PCGS's "Customers" should not have to tap a slab to fix a coin, not for the money they charge. Just my opinion for what it's worth, Lee

    Now, that sucks!
I know, someone is gonna say "Whaddaya want for $14.00?"

And, the new slabs aren't THAT easy to tap 'n rap.....

Looks like the graders were also partaking. They all graded PR69DCAM.

I'm surprised we don't ocassionally get a piece of a grader's finger in a slab.

Try tapping the side of the slab with your finger afew times and see if it moves. I have actually straightened these out before. Seriously, it is possible that it can be done.

Cameron is correct. I had a PCGS bulk submission come back and every coin was crooked. It was so bad I thought someone at PCGS hated me and decided to torture me in this petty way. Took a long time of taping the coins on my hardwood floor but I got most of them straight. There are a few that the coins tilted and wouldn't move. Sure was a lot easier fixing them myself then sending them back to PCGS and waiting 2 months to get the coins back.

I don't think the graders were partaking or imbibing on your submission only ... I got back some UK 20 pence that were cracked from mint sets ... grades varied between MS67 and MS68.

What's the fruity purplish stuff they slipped in with the coins too? Clearly there's something wrong with those guys.

I've used the tap-n'-rap to good effect in the past. Can't help but wonder if some tap-n'-rap type motion in shipping affected those?

Yeah- only the 25 cent coins. I guess it ain't too likely. Hmm.

Unless the other coins were smaller pieces, maybe?

    OK, OK. Longshot.

The "bong" theory is probably as likely.

Looks identical to a Jefferson I recently got back. This one was the worst, but there were two other bad ones. Takes a real jerk workin' the slabber...

OK, after looking at the slabs I figured out what happened. The person mounting the coin made sure that if you are looking at the reverse of the slab the date is always right side up. So if you are holding the slab reverse facing you, the date is right side up. Making the rest of the coin crooked in the holder...

That's true....Canadian quarters are a bit smaller than US....Probably the only quarter slab they make, one size supposed to fit all.....
