what a waste of blue ink.... you should grade 3 of them and request a ryan leaf master set.... if they start one, i'll compete with you in it.. looks like you'd kick my ass though based on that pile of crappy cards in the photo.. errrr i mean rare and precious gems.. then one day MOSH will come along and buy us both out and still get change back from a hundred dollar bill...
Are any of those card companies that Sir Ryan is pictured on still producing cards??????? I cant think of who had better success Pacific card Co. or Ryan Leaf LOL
Seller is an idiot! He puts up an auction for 7 autographed cards.
The sensational Ryan Leaf, plus 6 players that nobody has ever even heard of : Mike Alstott, Jake Plummer, Kordell Stewart, Eddie George, Jason Sehorn, and Joey Galloway.
Seller could have easily quadrupled his money by simply highlighting Ryan's card in the scan. Instead, like a fool, he practically hides it beneath the cards of the 6 nobodies. Almost like he's ashamed of it ...
With Ryan's career taking off as a youth golf pro, who knows to what heights that card will skyrocket in value. Can you say "Sports Illustrated Card Tiger Woods like?"
Now looking for a 1950 Bowman Baseball Box as pictured below.

I've always thought the game used jersey rookie cards as funny. Used in what game?
Clear Skies, Mark
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
Only #2? Nobody worked so tirelessly to alienate so many of his teammates, frontoffices and fans as Mr. Leaf did - and only to get ranked a poultry #2?
I'm sure he will demand a recount! It's a travesty I tell you!
He should be an honorary guest at all drafts from know on. That way he will be available for all the talk of the next big Ryan Leaf type bust. They should give out an honor every year for the previous years biggest bust in his name. I think a great drinking game should be while watching the draft you have to drink everytime someone mentions Ryan Leafs name in conjection with a possible draft bust. I think you might get through round one ok but not round two.
Currently completing the following registry sets: Cardinal HOF's, 1961 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1972 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1980 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, Bill Mazeroski Master & Basic Sets, Roberto Clemente Master & Basic Sets, Willie Stargell Master & Basic Sets and Terry Bradshaw Basic Set
Leaf set a San Diego Chargers' record for passing futility, completing just one of 15 passes for four yards in a 23-7 loss at Kansas City. He fumbled three times and was intercepted twice.
I remember laughing that he completed my passes to my team than he did his own.i bet he is fat now.

Hey coach, you just said "Throw the ball." That is what I did.

As a Chargers fan who does not watch college football, I remember some of my friends who were sports geeks talking about how Leaf had more upside than Manning, and how I would eventually be happy he fell to us at #2. Anyone else remember that?
I am buying and trading for RC's of Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Bob Cousy! Don't waste your time and fees listing on ebay before getting in touch me by PM or at gregmo32@aol.com !
A Ryan Leaf Thread? What a bust he was. I'm so glad when the Chiefs drafted Todd Blackledge ahead of Dan Marino and John Elway that he didn't turn out to be a bust.

I can remember most people thinking they were fairly close. My memory is that most people favored Manning slightly. I can't recall anyone saying the Chargers were throwing the pick away.
I can also remember a similar scenario with Rick Mirer and Drew Bledsoe. There was a clear winner there, too...but not like Manning vs. Leaf.
Ryan and Russell Erxleben need a reality show together.

Man, do I ever! What a disaster. I like when this thread hits the top. Every Chargers fan (including myself) hangs their head whenever his name comes up. They learned from that disaster, traded down to allow Atlanta to get Vick and got LT in 2001 (so some good came out of it). Did I hear he is coaching golf now instead of football?
I can't believe that we are actually using up valuable server space on a punk biotch like Leaf. It does, however, give me the idea to start a Joe Charbaneau thread!
P.S. Please forgive me if I made a mistake on the spelling....it wasn't worth my time to verify if it was correct or not!

unless of course you're scared.....
pretend Ryan Leaf quote:
"No way that Tony Romo is better than me. I should be the starter in Dallas ritght now!"

Not out of the question for this man among boys to resurface soon ...

No more long hours at Waffle House!
From the article about him becoming a golf coach :
"Leaf is on hand mainly for his motivational methods."
WTF? The least motivated player in the history of the NFL is teaching kids his methods.
How motivated do you need to get in order to hit a freaking golf ball anyway?
"How about a little fire Scarecrow ?"
