We could swich this over to a RYAN Teequest thread :

    image

He's stupid, worthless, and without a clue like Ryan Leaf, but at least he doesn't try to play QB in the NFL ...

Remember when SEAU had to grab Leaf by the arm and escort him away from that reporter in the locker room? That always gives Me a chuckle, hey speaking of busts anyone remember the kid from the golden arches of Notre Dame............The one and only Rick Mirer.
  • wolfbearwolfbear Posts: 2,759 ✭✭✭

Still not sure why people are bringing up busts in a Ryan Leaf thread,
but here are a couple of good shots of Rick Mirer admiring his feet :

It looks like Ryan Leaf's fabled career suddenly has some stiff competition. Enter Eli Manning. Before the 2004 NFL draft, Eli Manning communicates through his father to the San Diego Charger front office that if he is drafted by San Diego, he will not sign and sit out the entire year. Now after having a Ryan Leaf-like start on the gridrion, Manning demands to be traded to the Chargers because he wants to "play for a contender [rather] than a team in disarray like the Giants". Is this guy priceless or what?

Eli to San Diego: Don't Draft Me!

Eli Demands to be Traded to San Diego after having another lousy game with the Giants

Here are the stats of Leaf and Manning for their rookies years:

    ELI MANNING
    TEAM NYG
    YEAR 2004
    G 6
    GS 4
    COM 42
    ATT 110
    PCT 38.2

  • Leaf passes praise to Woodson: He's best, deserves Heisman

    December 4, 1997

If the Heisman Trophy is awarded to college football's best player, then Michigan's Charles Woodson deserves it, fellow candidate Ryan Leaf said Wednesday.

"I would have to say Charles, because he does so many things for his team. That makes him the best college football player," said Leaf, the Washington State quarterback Woodson and the Michigan Wolverines will face in the Rose Bowl.

But Leaf quickly added: "If the Heisman goes to the player who best exemplifies what college football is all about, then Peyton Manning should get it. He passed up millions of dollars last year to come back and play his senior year."

Ryan Leaf - truly a class act. Seriously - wow what happened to that guy?

Let's all blame the San Diego media.

  • NickM, I wouldn't worry too much about catching up with the Ryan thread. By the time this thread could ever make it to 1800 posts, the Ryan thread would be well past 10,000

"I'm looking forward to a 15-year career, a couple of trips to the Super Bowl and a parade through downtown San Diego,''
-Ryan Leaf, on the day he was drafted by the Chargers

How about 15-minutes of fame, a life in the s**t bowl, and being run out of San Diego on a rail ...

There is some symmetry to the Bolts playing the Colts this weekend.
Ryan Leaf was drafted # 2 by the Bolts right after Peyton Manning was drafted # 1 by the Colts.

If the Chargers had not drafted Leaf,
they never would have been a bad enough team to be able to draft Ladainian Tomlinson.

So it all comes full circle with Ryan Leaf as the stupid, cowardly clown in the midst of the race for the Super Bowl ...

    From the auction description :

"Each bear is individuallly numbered collectible, only 72,000 pieces were made."

    Those aren't mine, gmoneystyles.
Mine are tucked away in my safety deposit box.

When you talk about your ulta rare collectables,
these babies have got to be right up there with the best of them.

I have it on good authority that most of the Ryan Leaf bears were used as targets in a firearms marksmanship competition a few years ago. image
