Now, if there were an expressed offer to sell the coin in the thread then it probably belongs in b/s/t.

Agreement from here...

I 100% agree

I considered it even more of a privilege to have met him and seeing how he has passed his love of the coin hobby to his son.
But then again his son is entering that awful teenage period soon in which coins get a lot of competition!
You cannot post picture of a coin that you own and is for sale. Although, Most of the people here that post pics of their coins would sell those very same coins if the price was right. Therefore, Most people here have broken the same rule they are bicthing(misspelled) about.
One word defines this. You know what it is. Let Adrian Post pictures of his awesome coins.
Jeff"
I bet you hit the "no" button with relish this time!
I agree....however, no matter how this poll turns out, I've been given the word from "the man" that if it's in my store, it's not to be posted (and as I said, I will have no problem adhering to both the letter and the spirit of the rule.)
<< <i>He should post any pic he wants but it he states its for sale then it belongs in a BST thread. >>
As much as I like the beautiful images now that I think about it more, I think you got it right.
You attcked me first, I jusy stated my opinion in a previous post and you called me a whiner? As you can see others are tired of this too. Go to the post where I did so much wrong to you, or the first to disagree with you. Where is your respone to others who have posted against you. Look at the poll, there is some backing, like you I will stand up for my opinion, Just like you so leave it alone.

"you called me a whiner?"
Jeff - I didn't call you a whiner. I insinuated that you were a whiner, while denying that I was calling you a whiner. There's a difference.
"As you can see others are tired of this too. "
Yes, there are always people tired of me. I'm tired of me. See, we're not as different as it seems. I insinuated that you were a whiner and you signed your name "Jeff the whiner"
"Where is your respone to others who have posted against you. "
I know Carol - and she's gonna give me all of your names and you're not getting a Christmas card from me!

<< <i>No. Why should he be able to post his EBay coins here and others aren't? We descend on newbies who use this place to advertise their EBay sales like vultures and nobody thinks twice. Do we let Adrian do it because he has nice coins, images, and has a great sense of humor? I welcomed him here with open arms when he made his first post. But his posts are all about him, his coins, his lifestyle, etc...I could name a dozen dealers I'd rather see circumvent this unwritten forum rule before Anaconda. Some get it, some don't. >>
Shylock, I couldn't have said it better myself.
I do not know ANACONDA and have not really followed any of his posts in detail so I don't say this as a rebuke of him personally. But to go along with what shylock was saying, I have a tendency to frown on the more affluent collectors who have condescending attitudes and swelled egos simply because they have more available cash than I have to spend on nicer, high-priced coins. I certainly enjoy looking at pictures of the coins, but I hate having to deal with the boasting and the haughtiness and the bull$hit that more often than not accompanies their pictures.
It's one thing to post a picture of a nice coin. It's another thing to post a picture of a nice coin in order to demonstrate your extravagant lifestyle and to make a statement of how rich you are. Take my favorite series, for example. Barber Halves. I would much rather see pictures of nice, original, eye-appealing midgrade (F-12 to XF-45) specimens than look at high-priced MS examples. More often than not, those who post photos of their MS63+ coins are doing so just to stroke their own egos. I could go online right now to about a dozen or so websites and, if I had the available cash, I could purchase about 40 of the 73 dates in this series in MS63 or better in a few hours. Now, try doing that with nice, original, uncleaned VF or XF or AU halves. You can't come anywhere close to that number. They simply aren't available. That's why having lots of money to spend on this hobby doesn't impress me AT ALL. I am much more impressed by a collector of average means who painstakingly assembles a collection of eye-appealing "collector grade" coins. I could look at Tyler Child's VF-XF Barber Halves all day long. I like listening to Mike Hayes' thoughts and experiences of trying to assemble an AU55-58 set of them. No offense to Dale Friend, but his MS65+ stuff just ain't all that impressive to me.
BUT - Ilike to see how coins are SUPPOSED to look when they aren't tampered with, at'ed or cleaned.

Interpretation....well, it's just a little too obvious....
But, I'm glad you can read minds.
Wait a minute.....so can I. You're seething.....seething.....but with what? Hmmm....
"No offense to Dale Friend, but his MS65+ stuff just ain't all that impressive to me."
My BS ometer is going off the charts.....so in other words, if you had the money, you wouldn't collect GEM mint state Bust dollars and proof 65 AND BETTER early gold or some other series IN 65 AND BETTER? You would just stick with circulated Barber Halves? YEAH RIGHT...WE ALL BELIEVE YOU!

This is my sentiment as well.
And....thanks, puff. My wife is Proof 70 on the inside too. (Not MS....as in not made for circulation.)
This thread makes me contemplate the nuances of baiting vs. trolling . . .
the fish is biting, but which method are you using?
Adrian, are you using fresh water tackle?
