I get to teach my first college course in the morning. PHP/MySQL Fundamentals at SMSU.

It's coin related....PHP/MySQL was something I learned BECAUSE of coins....so I could publish coppercoins.com. Now I'm teaching it to a classroom full of people.

Good luck - I'm assuming you learned it to publish the forums? I still need to upgrade my webhost to let me use PHP/MySQL - I have some running if it'd let me!

Good luck, CD. I smiled at your motivation to learn PHP/MySQL - way back in the day, I was heavily involved with a baseball board game simulation called Strat-o-matic that was very statistically oriented. Attempting to give myself an edge in the league, I taught myself Fortran so I could have programs that analyzed the player statistics. Didn't help my team very much, but it got me started with computers.

hey Jim

i remember a class in 11th grade, something Math related like Calculus or Trig, that started us writing some simple Fortran programs. it was my first introduction to computers and the school was quite proud of the machine they had. it was a jumbo, desk size Computer that stood in the middle of the room and clanked, clunked, binged and bonged!!!!!!!! man, we've come a long way!!!!!

believe it or not, i've taught a couple classes - adult ed - & enjoyed it tremendously. if it paid better, i'd of considered such a career in teaching.

Good job. I did the same thing with MSAccess, although most programmers would scoff my programming style.
