This one is mine, in an ANACS slab. I bought it from another VAM collector, I don't know any other "history" about the coin.

Thanks to all. I don't target toned coins for my collection. Some just end up by accident in my pile of coins. This one was very nice. A bit too nice, and made me a bit suspecious.

There's no "s" here.

It's an 1878 8 TF.

I say it original because & back it up with this one that has the same color & pattern as this Binion holdered by NGC which supposedly is original bag tone. My scan is kinda dull but it looks a lot like yours.

My obv & your rev would make a nice coin. My rev is basically white with some dark spots on it. What vam is yours?

Click on my first picture and show "properties", it will tell you that the picture is named 1878VAM6.jpg.

'Tis a VAM 6. Minted closely together in 1878... Maybe even from the same bag as yours!

Re-united (in a virtual sense) after 126 years.

This is like my paired 1882 O/S's. It would be cool to get them in a 2 coin multi-holder, with the obverse of yout coin and the reverse of my coin showing.

Here's another one almost just like it. Might've been in the same sack too. I think it's VAM 1 but I need to check it closer. An interesting combo in itself in that the holder is a seldom seen early type that pre-dates PCGS existance by several years.

Amazing. I should start searching for coins that match in (natural) toning patterns. That would be an interesting search.

If it looks NT, it is NT. Likewise, if it looks AT, it is AT. This is how the market judges coins.
