I just got to meet and talk to John Morris (FatMan) :)

Since he's in town, we decided to meet up at the library after school today (he was lucky and didn't have to go to school). So at the library, we got to chat about all facets of the hobby and marvel over some of my collection. He is now linking my toned eagles to my dad's PhD in chemistry, but I assure you I bought them that way! image

I certainly had a great time talking about my coins and coins in general, along with other fun stuff like PCGS (nothing bad, of course! image) It just goes to show that the boards are extra cool for meeting people... cool! image

    Thank you for sharing your wonderful coins with me. I really enjoyed having the chance to spend some time with you. You are a great kid (you probably hate me calling you that) and you amaze me with your numismatic knowlegde at such a young age. I look forward to seeing you again at the GSNA show on Saturday.

    Sorry I'll miss you at the show. Picked a bad week to miss in Atlanta as there is another small show in ATL on saturday in Rockdale.

    Rockdale Coin Club Show, May 17, The Mall at Stonecrest, I-20, Exit 75, Lithonia, GA, 10 AM-6 PM

    Sorry I'm going to miss that one as well. I've never been to that show so if anyone goes let me know what I missed.

    Fatman, Jeremy said your not fat, thats dissapointing because it means i'm the fatguy here. LOL. By the way, if you ever make it to the twin cities, let me know and i'll show you my collection of shiney round pieces of metal. Les

    Alright guys......fat is relative......lets just say I'm well rounded. The truth of the matter is that "FatMan" is my trail name. I am an avid backpacker and being 6' 2" and 235lbs I am quite large compared to most backpackers so I am referred to as the Fatman. On the AT (not Toning but the Appalachian Trail) all hikers sign registers along the trail so people can be found in emergencies. Most hikers sign with their trail names.


    Clank.......you are someone I would really like to spend some time with talking coins. Only two problems, I believe you reside on the left coast and I rarely get out that way. And you seem to be spending more time in the Dark and I'm afraid of the Dark.image

    It's great when you do get to meet board members in person.In the last two years since I've been posting I've gotten to meet alot of left coasters at shows here in Calif.I think it's a large part of the fun attending coin shows.
