Join the ACLU

Every day in America, hundreds are forcefully incarcerated with almost no public notice. Many are locked away in confined cells, never to feel the warm touch of a human hand again. Those who carry out these deeds say they are doing it for everyone's good and the protection of those imprisoned. We concerned freedom fighters, however, know better.

For less than a dollar a day, you can help us at the ACLU (American Coin Liberation Union) free imprisoned coins from their plastic cells. Our fight is to liberate numismatic captives so they may be free to show their lettered edges and denticles to waiting collectors. You can join our campaign by sending your contributions to:

I just want to say, I've never bought a used car from Frank, but I've sure bought plenty of Liquor from him. He's good man. Fair, honest trader. If Shiro says to send him money, then you bettcha, I'm on it.

There is on good thing about slabs. The plastic spares nice original coins from the indignity of getting dipped in acid so that a fickle owner or customer can see it turn red, white or whatever color is now in vogue. Some incarcerations are a form of “protective custody.”

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

I'm personally a member of the CLO: Coin Liberation Organization. But we don't liberate them from slabs, we liberate them from the hands of the evil armies of public hands. image

Yikes, Sally has really expanded her operations, hasn't she?

We begin each ACLU meeting with the favorite hymn of coin-edge lovers:

    "Counting all the reeds,
    Counting all the reeds,
    We shall go rejoicing,
    Counting all the reeds."
