Hopefully the same happens with the Chargers. As much as I like Herbert Spanos doesnt deserve wins moving them from SD to LA

The Chargers continue to be playoff losers, nothing new there

Pats were not firing off on all cylinders last night on Offense but the D handled business

I don’t ever want to hear Justin Herbert’s name in the same sentence with Josh Allen ever again

Maye was shaky in the first half. I am thinking first playoff game jitters. he was very good in that 4th quarter.

just getting up and at-em after last night. Patriots rookies were showing some playoff jitters in my opinion. Maye was very off in the first 3 quarters. the left side of the OL was not good either. Henderson was also a non factor.

I am hoping the rookies have gotten it out of their systems and next sunday will be full steam ahead!!

also hoping that Gonzalez is alright after he came out of the game late.

I think Denver will win at home and with that defense.

my heart wants Josh and the Bills to win. I would rather have Buff come to NE than have to play a road game against Denver.

all of that assuming we make it past the divisional round.

I also wanted to add that Josh Allen is an absolute warrior. if it were not for him, Buff would not be a playoff team. I love watching Josh play. he reminds me so much of John Elway

I feel exactly the same way. that D is so good. I will be rooting hard for old friend ARod to come into NE next Sunday and for Milton Williams to put him on his head!

I'll play devil's advocate with Herbert. his teammates on offense are the worst. his offensive line sucks to high heaven and almost got him torn apart last night. Hampton was out, so his RB was a little jitterbug who did nothing. And that receiving corps. Holy crap. It was Keenan Allen who looks like he's 50-years-old now and a bunch of guys who can't get open, can't make plays and wouldn't start for any other playoff team. It is amazing that team won as many games as it did with that little talent on offense.

On top of that, they ran into a buzz saw of a defense last night. The Pats can ball out on D. They are legit and that's a key component of a championship team.

Combine those and the net result is 3 points

  • galaxy27galaxy27 Posts: 9,838 ✭✭✭✭✭

Btw if I'm a Pats fan, I'm trading my NE hat for a Steelers lid tonight. I'd be the biggest black and gold fan on the planet. Pittsburgh would be a layup next weekend; Houston, with that defense, would not be

Herbert was abused last night. especially in the 4th quarter. there were a couple of hits where i was hoping they would just take him out of the game they looked so bad. his corner really needed to throw in the towel and save him from himself. I do have a lot of respect for him though, playing through injury and dealing with the terrible beating he took.

and i have to get this off my chest

I had no problem with someone picking the Pack to beat my team. I had no problem with someone saying that Green Bay would blow them out. but what I do have a problem with is a paid talking head opining vociferously as if the Bears shouldn't even show up.

Dan Orlovsky how do you like those apples, and you can kiss my ass

gotta brag on my QB for a moment. if I ever see basebal talk about how Caleb sucks again, i'll be ready with this. this is the play i referenced in my post after the game. every time i watch it I think the Bears season is over. that would have been my team's fate had he not done this

So how did that defense become a buzzsaw? Buffalo scored 5 straight TDS against them. I watched Herbert suck it! The OC never ran a 6-7 hitch and the only check down he had was a 400 lbs fullback who fell all over himself. Blame Harbaugh for the terrible game plan

I think the biggest difference between week 14 and sunday night was that NE was missing their best defensive player, DT Milton williams. his absence creates a GIANT hole in their pass rush. teams can double Barrimore and there is zero push up the middle. without Williams, there is no pass rush with a 4 man front. with williams, the middle push is intense and they can get pressure with 4 up front. it allows them to drop more guys into coverage.

Williams was very expensive, but he makes the defense work. it is very noticable when he is absent.

if they are able to get Tonga back next week, it will be even more devastating.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

one of San Francisco's wide receivers was a higher-ranked QB than Joe Burrow, Sam Darnold and Lamar Jackson coming out of high school

this same wide receiver threw a touchdown pass in an NFL playoff game yesterday

your boy Josh Allen did Josh Allen things in that game. but when the dust settled, NE had the 4th best scoring D this season. no team is immune from an outlier performance.

check out this box score. how many times this season did Geno put up a very respectable QBR & passer rating? very few, i submit. he's not worth a sack of squash as a quarterback. and look at Jeanty. the #6 overall pick couldn't eclipse 1,000 yards in a 17-game season, yet in this game he went for a buck 28 @ 5.3 per tote and had two 50+ yard house calls.

if you had no idea who the Raiders played in this game, it would take you at least 25 guesses to reach the correct answer.

answer: they play tonight and have a defense that's considered by many to be the best that the NFL has to offer.

yet in this particular game the Texans allowed the Pac-10 Las Vegas Raiders to move up and down the field, score more points than they ever should have, and almost steal a game in their house. i watched that entire game. at the very beginning the Texans' D had a pick-6, then they were absolutely, positively horrible the rest of the game.

He's got a vibe. That's for sure. I think what makes him even more lovable right now is how terrible his predecessors were. As a self-professed Superfan I will be locked and loaded for Sunday here in the hotbed of their upcoming opponent. I will wear my Bears gear in public to create potential volatility. ;)

I mean I couldn't explain this any better than Galaxy just did.

The best part of this buzzsaw that Josh Allen busted up was it was during the regular season and personally I think it was a good wake up call for my Pat's,. Drake Maye was in bad need of a ugly taste in his mouth as was the rest of the team

All the smiling and sunshine and rainbows of their fun win streak needed to get blown up at some point, again glad it was in the regular season.and not a playoff game

We might meet again in the Playoffs we might not.

Buffalo has been bit by the injury bug also. Ed Oliver is our Tonga and he’s missed half a season. Bernard (ML) has been hurt and when playing isn’t 100%. We lost Harrison (CB) last week and Tre White 31, stepped up huge in Jacksonville. Jordan Poyer went out early Sunday and a practice squad safety played 3/4 of the game.
Every team is missing keys so next man up.

Last year's 31-7 win by #2 seed Buffalo against #7 seed Denver in the wild card round has no relevance to Saturday's game in Denver.

If anything, last year's game will motivate the current Denver team to play harder.

In the 2025 regular season Buffalo lost 5 games by a total of 35 points (7 points per game). Denver lost 3 games by a total of 18 points (5.6 per game).

Denver allowed only 311 points over 17 games (18.29 points per game), #3 in the NFL behind Houston's 295 points and Seattle's 291 points.

Buffalo allowed 365 points over 17 games (21.47 points per game).

Buffalo scored 481 points over 17 games (28.29 per game) and Denver scored 401 points over 17 games (23.59 points per game).

Buffalo won 6 games where the margin of victory was 10 points or less and lost 4 of those games.

Denver won 11 games where the margin of victory was 10 points or less and lost 2 of those games.

For the 2015-2024 seasons, of the 20 #1 seeds in the playoffs for those ten years, 14 of them won to advance to the conference championship and 6 of them lost their first game. Of the 14 #1 seeds that advanced to the conference championship game, 8 of them won and advanced to the Superbowl; and 5 of them won the Superbowl.

This trend supports the likelihood that on Saturday Denver will win and advance to the AFC Championship game. So does the performance of both teams during the regular season.

Buffalo is a sentimental favorite as many would like to see the Bills finally win a Superbowl (deja vu in the 1998 season when Denver, with an 0-4 Superbowl record, finally won the Lombardi trophy [boy was I a happy camper]), but anyone opining that Denver has little or no chance of winning on Saturday against the Bills is not thinking logically.

    Go Denver :)

    C.J. Stroud needs a snickers.

To those fans who always say you can’t hit today’s QB’s because of the rules protecting them, the Chargers offensive line says we respectfully beg to differ.

    @SanctionII

your team is receiving no respect. they're the top-seeded team in the AFC and they opened as a home dog to the #6 seed

if i was a Broncos player I'd have a mountain-sized chip on my shoulder

Am I watching last night’s game again tonight? 🤔

Sure seems like a rerun from last night. Pittsburgh got 3 turnovers and only 2 FGs to show for it.

So I checked the box score just to see how low a quarterbacks QBR could go after he fumbles 5 times and alas…… Strouds QBR was a very respectable 62.
I guess if he would have coughed up the ball a couple more times maybe he would have made it into the 80’s.
What a load of crap QBR is. 😂
