NFL needs to do something about the division winners with less than a .500 record. Letting them in the playoffs when there are other teams with better records not getting in the playoffs is ridiculous

What would be the point of having divisions then?

Youd just basically have to go to AFC NFC like how the college conferences got rid of divisions. I do think it is a better method buts still not perfect because you still will run into issues with the schedule discrepancy.

It’ll never happen because it will take the shine off of long time rivalries.
Don’t know how many here are old enough to remember the NFL planned on shuffling the division’s to cut down on travel. Jerry Jones had a cow because Dallas was going to be put in the South, rightfully so but the NFL backed down. That’s when the Cowboys were actually relevant. #1 in t-shirt sales.
Without looking it up New England passes them in their hay day and I’m sure Kansas City has lead the last 8-10 years

I dont think its going to happen yet, and it does have its own problem, but it probably is the best system. The division champ thing is so largely dependent on whose in the division and some teams are getting basically free wins while others are playing teams not tanking every week.

Its being tested in college so hopefully they follow through with it

@perkdog Why in the heck was Drake Maye still in the game at 31-10? Vrabel padding his MVP stats? All he needed was a concussion up 21 and out for next week. I thought it was reckless and unnecessary

Because Vrabel is trying to be the next Belichick

It's ridiculous and stupid, I complained about that for years when Brady was still. in during the 4th quarter during blowout rampages

The Ravens kicker bails out the Steelers kicker. 😂🥳

  • perkdogperkdog Posts: 33,536 ✭✭✭✭✭

It will be really interesting to see what happens with the Ravens during the off-season, Lamar has ultimately proved he isn't a winner, Derek Henry is 32 and Harbaugh is a terrible coach.

Yes I hate the Ravens lol

And Caleb Williams finishes with 3942 yards passing, I was rooting for him to get that 4000 yards that no Bears QB has ever had

oh man, so close. I am rooting for Caleb and the Bears this season. barring injury, I am very confident that he will eclipse 4k yards next season.

The Browns can’t win for losing. They made a trade last season with then 4-13 Jacksonville which looked hopeful, possible giving them two top 10 picks in the 2026 draft.

Who could have known the Jags would flip things to 13-4 and drop the pick to 28!!

The Browns have fired Kevin Stefanski after 6 seasons and constant struggles. Maybe someone can fire Jim Haslam. Not that I'm defending Stefanski but the guy was hamstrung with that Watson debacle which the next HC will have for two more seasons. Best to just pay that POS and move on with a fresh start.

After these seasons with the Stefanski led Browns offense and what just took place at Ohio State I am more convinced than ever that to be successful as a HC requires an Offensive Coordinator who calls plays during games. One of the primary functions of the HC is to delegate, that position has a lot to do and doesn't need to be burdened with the responsibility of calling plays. It is done, but I believe it is better for the OC to handle that duty.

Stefanski should be thrilled he was released & they owe him full salary through 2027.

How their General Manager has kept his job is ridiculous.

If I were the Falcons, I would look seriously at Stefanski - him and Cousins have a history together in 2018 & 2019. FWIW, the ATL fans I've interacted with are very happy the GM & HC are gone -- AND Rick McKay has been "promoted" off the day-to-day of the Falcons ops.

    Enjoy your collection!

    so pumped

and this thing is wide open

outside of LAR-Carolina, no first-round outcome would surprise me

Harbaugh should have been gone years ago. Can’t wait for the Steelers to choke it down and get rid of Tomlin who is in that same boat.

Steelers HC Mike Tomlin may have the quote of the season, remarking on the firing of John Harbaugh:
--- But more than anything, I just think it’s a larger example of today’s sport culture in terms of not a lot of patience and the entertainment component of what it is that we do. There’s just not a lot of longevity. You know, I’m sure we all would like to be Don Shula and Tom Landry, but I think those days are gone.”

For the record, Tom Landry was HC of the Cowboys for 29 years and Don Shula was HC of the Dolphins for 26 years. At 18 and 19 years for Harbaugh and Tomlin I fail to see any lack of patience by Baltimore and Pittsburgh. Given the players those teams have had, the Division they play in and the playoff success of each team I'd say too much patience was squandered on both.

looks like Rashee Rice may be in trouble again. If the allegations turn out to be true, KC has to cut him, right?

agreed. it is hard to tell the truth in these situations. i have not seen the posts she made, but apparently she shared some images of her where she was assaulted physically.

the guy seems to be pretty reckless when looking at his past. I really thought he would have been cut after the car racing/accident thing happened.

what are there, like 7 HC openings right now? i can think of two guys who are deserving of one: Harbaugh & Stefanski

there are going to be a number of teams that really reach, and as a result they'll probably be entertaining the same decision in the not-too-distant future

i think the Browns' issues extend far beyond Stefanski. their brass is straight up clueless. backing up the Brinks truck for a guy like Watson and the net result is the team being hamstrung for years.

they are going to end up with a lesser HC, watch

Well even though everybody knew Watson was a bust, Stefanski kept him as the No 1 QB. And Stefanski was the one who wanted Dillion and if it wasn't for Dillion's concussion Sanders would have not seen any action at QB this year. Stefanski just didn't have enough control over the players - the players pretty much ran the asylum. It will be interesting for sure to see what he does with his next pro team.

The Browns problems aren’t the HC, although Stefanski’s insistence on calling offensive plays didn’t help. The biggest impediment to success is the Owner involvement and to a lesser degree the GM.

No successful HC with any common sense will come near the franchise.

The games that interest me include The Jaguars, Patriots and Texans, I’d like those teams to win.

I’m shaking my head and smiling to think I am a Patriots fan at the moment. How the hell did that happen??!!?? 😂😂😂

Panthers gave the Rams all they could handle.
At this moment Packers are having their way with the Bears defense. 14-3. If the packers take the crowd out of it the Bears are in serious trouble
