I collect first ballot hall of fame rookies, PSA grade in same as decade (so 8 for the 80s, 7 for the 70s). I thought PSA 5 for the 50s was getting expensive, but getting a 10 for anything since 2000 requires budgeting too.
So that’s the background on me getting this Ichiro. I don’t have it yet so sorry for the screenshot.
Not much in my price range that I was interested in. Did grab these 2 as I am slowly working on a Carlton Fisk Topps run and the Banks I had as a beater as a young collector and has a certain nostalgia to me that is hard to express in words

Congrats on a beautiful Banks with extra meaning to you! That's what collecting is all about, One to be proud of.
Mike , I looked at your set . Most are really centered well . Nice collection-----Sonny
Thanx Sonny. Centered 52s are hard to come by - been searching for years. I'm not doing the set; only collecting centered 7s - and now the prices have skyrocketed. So my days are numbered buddy.

1968-70 Mickey Mantle’s Country Cookin’ Postcard (Kneeling)
This one is killer Tim!
The note that Mantle did is very friendly and his "appreciation" is noteworthy - I think I'd rather display in view the note with his sig vs the front?

Mike,
The greeting and message on the back of this postcard is printed on; only the signature on the front is legitimate and ‘live ink’ (ballpoint).
(I actually have an unsigned one, too. 😁)

So I sent a couple of subs in. I cracked this out mainly because I hated the OC qualifier and thought it had a legit shot at a 7. Well I got the results this am. Not disappointed because I think the case is an upgrade but
Highlights from my recent sub. The 2003 Gold Ortiz is very condition sensitive, I'm glad to get an 8 - there are no 10's and just a few 9's. Also been a while since I had a surprise 10 - I thought the 2014 Ortiz had a very small surface issue. The Edelman was cracked out of an SGC 9.

Been buying more tickets than cards lately. Trying to acquire notable events in Wisconsin. Grabbed this one the other day. Black Sabbath played at the Milwaukee Arena in October, 1980. After a fan hit bassist Geezer Butler in the head with a bottle before the set's third song, Sabbath members left the stage; a riot ensued shortly after. I added a few pictures from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Was that the Dio era? BTW I'm a Dio fan, what a voice!
It's the singer not the song - Peter Townshend (1972)

Now past the half way point of my ‘65 OPC HOF Run. The card is tilted in the holder but the card has no tilt.
Brad…
Beautiful ‘65 OPC Aaron. Nice centering w/o image being skewed and colors pop! Congrats…

A couple of 61 autos for the set:

Wow! What a beauty!
My first card for a 71 Topps HOF set.
Cowens looks like he is eyeballing your girl at the bar

Thank you. I currently have 249 different signed 1961 cards. It is a fun set to work on. I love the legible cursive signatures as well.
I always enjoy seeing your updates. You are building a beautiful set!

Not much action on ebay for the guys I have been buying.

Saw this Blyleven and had to have it!

Going from this

To this
Reminds me of this

Ouch! I'm surprised it dropped 2 grades...I could see a 7.
Grabbed these 2
An 8 (OC) does equate to a 6, so they were consistent with their standards.
I might give that card a 7 as well, when a card is centered high and well centered side to side, it still has good eye appeal........to me.
This weeks pick ups.

Nice mail day….congrats!
Just arrived , finally , today .
Wow congrats on that beautiful Aaron rookie!
Love the 68 Howe, beauty!
Just decided to jump on this one. Nice looking card and a pop of only 11. I like the 30th anniversary patch.
On it's way!

Not an expensive or rare card, but I like 1987 Topps design and World Series win that year. Always liked this card.
Pleased with the mailbag today. Like the centering on Nolan.
Thank you! Real Count 217 to go. Count for my wife. Just 5 more.

SWEET!
Not complaining mind you, LOVE THIS, but he looks a bit older than he should for 1955-57? Maybe fighting a hang over? 😉
I came across this on Amazon when searching for books on t206 cards.
I don't buy cards like I used to for sharing but Jeez Laweez you are all killing it!! Congratz everyone!!
