Hypothetical: I know the holder shouldn't matter... but if you were looking at a significant coin for your collection and found several that look nice for the grade and appear equivalent but were in different holders... which would you buy? Bear in mind, they are NOT priced equivalently. How much of a premium would you pay?

Recent acquisitions to support my vote:
One caveat - I’d prefer a fresh to market old holder so I could submit to CAC myself but those are getting impossible to find.

Bring back album collecting!
I don't buy expensive uncertified U.S. coins. They need to be NGC or PCGS. I have to like the coin to even consider it. So far as CAC goes, I can take it or leave it.
OGH CAC (like there is a different answer 🤪)

I've always preferred the old, little ANACS holders.
You pay for SD boxes by the square inch.....
I now have only a handful of graded coins busted them out this week and put them in 2 by 2's. Only the more expensive coins (1000$ or more) will remain slabbed otherwise they are coming out and going into 2 by 2's then into these:
I just wish I could afford more.
My Collection of Old Holders
Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Reasons I am tired of slabs:
-Always worrying if they get damaged or are already damaged
-Storage takes to much space and cost more money
-If coin has PVC it is a problem I do not want to deal with much easier to acetone raw coins vs breaking a slab and then having to have it graded again
-Graded coins cost more in general
-The grades I collect are no where near near mint and I personally do not like mint state coins has been that way ever since I started collecting I prefer circulated coins in G-04 to F-15
-Latin American coins are not easy to find and even less so already graded
-Chance of loss or theft sending coins in to be graded
-Cost of grading for lower graded coins is simply not worth it
CACG, state of the art IMO.
PCGS Gold Shield holders with NFC and TrueViews.
IMHO, they are the top of the industry.

My US Mint Commemorative Medal Set
I'm a pcgs guy, in spite of all these genuine coins that looked gradeable to me.
I prefer PCGS / NGC. Have some CACG coins too but lately only if price is right.
Others pickup in bulk deals now and then.
I have to say (and I am not sure I can believe I am saying this), but I prefer the newest Gold Shield PCGS holders with the "partial" edge view.
I can't stand white prongs, but I really appreciate being able to see some of the edge, especially on my CBH's.
For classic holders, probably in this order (I may have missed one or two);
NGC Fatty (Black)
PCGS Two-piece
PCGS Doily
PCGS Rattler
NGC Fatty (Embossed Reverse)
PCGS OGH
NGC Fatty
Hallmark (Original)
ANACS (Original White Holder and PNG Logo)
ANACS (White Holder)

I buy the coin and not the holder first and then the holder second. However, if two coins presented to me were exactly the same but one was in a vintage holder, I would choose the vintage holder over the modern holder. Despite this, I did buy a couple cheap coins just for the holder and not so much for the coin in it.

holders have never influenced my choice in buying coins as i have a rule if the coin gets my notice it's bought , if two coins are the same then it would be which ever one caught my notice first

It's not old or new, or brand or sticker, it's the design of the slab. The old ANACS soaps are the best, only as large as they need to be, neat & clean, minimalist and lovely. Wish everyone would go to a thing like that.
Prefer Pcgs holder, Nfc chip and trueview.
Edited to add slab pics.

I am ranking HOLDERS here.
If I see a coin that I truly LIKE/WANT/NEED; I will buy it in ANY of these five holders.

OGH preferred.
I do buy the coin...just in the desired holder.
CACG no question about it bc:
While I do not actively search for specific holders, if 2 coins I want happen to be same grade and color and one is in an older holder, I would most likely go for this coin, but not to the point of excessive bidding.

Yes.

Any PCGS without a scuffed up holder. CAC optional. First though, I have to like the coin inside.

Straight PCGS should have been a choice. I’m not spending money on NGC hoping that it will cross
Lafayette Grading Set
Aesthetically, I like the modern PCGS holders the best. I really liked the modern holders coupled with the 35th Anniversary label.
But I would scoop up a USB if the coin was right, no reason to restrict yourself to a holder.
Yes they do, on my first submission both a light and dark background was supplied to me.
My Collection of Old Holders
Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
I’ve always felt silver looks better against a black background and gold against white.
Having fun while switching things up and focusing on a next level PCGS slabbed 1950+ type set, while still looking for great examples for the 7070.
