I think this one was the biggest coin I’ve ever seen. I took this picture out of a car window in Long Beach on my way to one of the Long Beach Coin Shows
And this is probably the biggest coin in terms of what it is worth that I’ve ever held and photographed when I visited Stacks Gallery in Boston earlier this year
Spent hours and hours years ago taking these pics of my coins. Nikon Coolpix point and shoot 4MB camera with "macro" lens. Had only 2 to 6 inches distance available for lighting.
Technology and talent have certainly improved. Mostly talent.

What is the purpose of posting a clearly disgusting coin in an otherwise very nice thread full of legitimately beautiful numismatic items?
And who exactly are you?... The thread police? If the OP doesn't have any problems with his post or mine, why should you? The OP said: "A good old fashioned post any coin you like thread" "Let's create a thread of just coins and talk relating to them" That's exactly what we were doing......discussing coins.
You are a great role model buddy. That has got to be one of the most outstanding photos of US coinage that I've ever seen and blows away the majority of MAJOR auction house's catalogs! The grandeur of the designs, and mix of denominations, and the colors! It's a photo that gets me truly excited about coins....even after 50 years! Well done Sir!

I feel like everyone needs to chill out for a couple seconds and relax. No need to get all up in arms.
I personally won't take offense to @braddick's post, but it certainly doesn't fit in with any of the coins in this thread. Generally, it is that kind of posting that was the stimulus for me to create this thread, so we could get away from parking lot finds and TPG madness. However, if he still wants to post it, that's his prerogative.

Top two are redo pics of coins I've had for years.
@FullHorn These are two of the most beautiful Buffalo nickels I have ever seen! The strike quality on both is astounding! So solid in fact, that they look like proof coins! (maybe they are? I honestly cannot tell!)
Anyway... WOW!!! @crazyhounddog has some drop dead gorgeous Buffalo nickels, and those are at the quality level of his coins which are probably some of the best eye appealing coins I have witnessed anywhere. That man is THE authority on Buffalos in my world! Anyway, I just had to take a moment to give some love to your Buffalos because I will be honest, I am not really a Buffalo nickel fan, but I would welcome those coins into my collection without hesitation and pay a hefty premium for them on top of that! I'm just trying to pay you the highest complement possible! Haha! Thank you for sharing, sir!

This is a bucket list coin for me now! I am not a fan of modern numismatic coins in general, but that is a gorgeous coin. Unfortunately, I would have to curtail my coin/currency buying for at least a half a year to be able to afford one, and I just do not have that kind of self control! LOL

A great example why one should differentiate between various types of details coins. A great coin. IMO the flaw adds rather than detracts.
