Can't remember who sent the Lincoln Roadshow to me. I believe it came from Minn., Wis. or Mich. Not 100% sure. I'm in Ohio. I sent it to Florida. It would be nice to track it from the beginning to the end and see how many miles it traveled.

I believe @Fraz is the keeper of the locations traveled by the holder😉

There is a log in the folder to record the travel. I don’t keep up with it any better than you guys can. That’s the first shot of the folder I’ve seen in a while.

@WQuarterFreddie I can't send you a PM because you have your profile set to private. Send me a PM and I'll give you my shipping address for when you are ready to send it.
Right now it looks like I am last in line unless someone joined the list that I didn't see.

You guys okay with Freddie’s notion to give the completed album to the family as remembrance from the forum buds that he has? I do not oppose, but it’s your album too.

If anyone does not want this, message me privately and I will replace your coins.

  • ChrisH821ChrisH821 Posts: 6,556 ✭✭✭✭✭

So it looks like the 1909 VDB spot is an Indian cent(I assume the 1906) and the 1910-S is the 1966. That's an... interesting... way to fill an album.

I think someone wanted the W quarter Fraz donated to the person filling the spot!🤣😂

Thank you for looking at that, I can’t see. No big deal, that’s what Em does. James would laugh with him.
I’m glad James is the first on the list!

Leave the 1906, it will be easy to put a 1909 P if we want.
If we get a 1910 S, we’ll save the 1966 for volume two.

Everyone has the coins, not everyone has the fun though.
Thanks, you guys. There’s no rush. I’ll sign up with Tibor for a second round, I still have some worn out semis.

It was a West Point cent.

James engaged his grandson in collecting, it is a better thought than I had imagined.

  • pcgscacgoldpcgscacgold Posts: 2,943 ✭✭✭✭✭

If the grandson collects then it is a great idea to send it to them. I always wanted this to end up in true YN hands.

Maybe we should pull the coins out that are not correct. I would have easily missed those when I was picking dates.

Fraz, if it runs out of names I'll throw my name back in a 2nd time. Fill what I can then I'll give Charmy ( The Penny Lady ) a call. I'll foot the bill for the rest of the common dates needed.

Not bad for a dsyslexic person with pareidolia, nor for a pareidoliac person with dyslexia, for that matter.

When that kid is my age the roadshow folder is gonna be interesting as hell if the provenance is known. That folder is tacky now. Time takes care of that, though.

Edit: oh yeah, I thought that the Indian was in the 1909 P slot, but it is in the 1909 P VDB slot. We gotta fix that. I have plenty if we need.

The album is now relaxing in the N.E. The notice says it should
be delivered on Friday, by 9 PM.

Are we limited to just one coin or can we put as many as we want that are needed?

I know I'm new to the party, but why don't we limit it to a couple of cents per member? It would be better to spread it out to
as many members as possible, right?

That was my opinion, but I won’t bridle enthusiasm after a sluggish beginning. Glad you join us.

  • Tom147Tom147 Posts: 1,485 ✭✭✭✭✭

At the start, my intent, after back & forth messages with Fraz was a couple coins. But, as Fraz said, in the beginning we didn't have very many wanting to take part. Others ahead of me picked up the slack so I did the same. I imagine as it gets close to completion we're gonna have more uncommon date/mm's, thus harder to fill. I'll take another go at it if needed and I'm sure Charmy ( The Penny Lady ) can sell me some needed date/mm's.

  • pcgscacgoldpcgscacgold Posts: 2,943 ✭✭✭✭✭

When the book got to me there were only 2-3 people left on the list and probably 80 open spots give or take.

Maybe see how many spots are open, how many are left on the list and determine your adds from that??? We have 5 people left and what looks like 35 or so open spots (remember there are wrong dates in a couple). Just a thought.

  • DCWDCW Posts: 7,460 ✭✭✭✭✭

Does this need to happen so quickly? Wouldn't it mean more with photos of this thing traveling all over the US with signatures of our members?
Or is completion the goal as rapidly as possible?

Again, I'm the new guy at the table. It is not my intention to stir any pots. I figure I'll add one cent and keep it moving down the line.

Signatures ? Forum name inside the front cover along with what coin's each member added. I don't believe there was a time frame discussed. Your not stirring any pots my friend. Possibility the original intent of this has changed due to the loss of Jzyskowski @Fraz your thoughts on this ?

I never met The Penny Lady but from her post she seems like a person who would possibly donate to the project once she was informed of the reason for the final destination of the project.
These boxes are all wheats I also should have some to fill any holes left open if it is not completed but something tells me the good people on this Forum will finish the job
