Upgraded my 1926 5C

ChrisH821ChrisH821 Posts: 6,558 ✭✭✭✭✭

This was recently available from DLRC. It has a nice strike which is something I specifically look for and the luster is great, lack of die clash is a nice bonus too. Overall I am very pleased.
Coinfacts info for 1926 states that these "come nice" but I had some trouble finding one that I thought was an acceptable upgrade.
Anyway here it is, PCGS 66:

Beauty, Congrats. Wish I had not sold mine. Took a long time to get it and a moment to lose it. :'(

Very much of an early die state blazer. Also appears to have some contrast between original nickel, gold and some violet undertones which enhance eye appeal IMO. Congrats!

That is a very, very nice 1926 Buffalo nickel... Lots of luster, great strike, no field chatter.... That is one to be proud of.... Cheers, RickO

Nice! Not my series, but looks like a great quality cherry-pick. What’s holding it back from a 67, the hit on the bison’s midsection?

Just the coin I’d want to possess. She’s a beauty. Congrats.

Thanks all! I've still got a handful in my set that I want to find better examples for but I'm not in a rush.

There are a few small marks here and there. I imagine that DLRC sent this to CAC, but I'm not positive... I wonder if they would tell me if I asked now that I own it...

I assume you're talking about the second coin, not the OP one?

The OP coin is nice and bold, but not the sharpest strike.

It's a tiny bit mushy on the obverse.
