Well I WAS excited to receive the newest innovation dollars...argh

KurisuKurisu Posts: 2,021 ✭✭✭✭✭

What is going on with the Mint?! This makes me want to cry.
My last orders all had similar issues with incredibly poor packaging...mint rolls totally unsecured in their boxes...AGAIN.

Customer service was of course wonderful as usual.
But last time this happened it was rolls that were sold out, so I was stuck with fresh but damaged Mint rolls.
This time I was able to place a replacement subscription order but the next round of orders won't be ready until the end of August, ugh.

Mint rolls shipped entirely loose in their boxes...all of them...all damaged of course.
Anyone else order any of these and did they arrive not loose in their boxes like this?!
What a sad waste that could've been avoided so easily yet again.
C'mon U.S. Mint, I'm disappointed in you, again.

Not sure I quite understand the complaint. The paper wrappers aren’t in gem mint condition, but the coins are fine?

I have not taken a shine to the Innovation Dollar designs.

It's one of my favorite modern series and the obverse Lady Liberty with the huge open fields is one of my all time favorite coin designs.

Currently only one MS67 and that may last a while.

Looks like they're unaware of bubble wrap at the mint. Sloppy and lazy for sure. Peace Roy

I don't get anything from the mint.

Maybe the Mint took the term 'rolls' literally.

I don't know what packing material cost the Mint but if saving on packing material is the make or break in them realizing a profit they are in the wrong business.

You and me both. My relationship with the mint ended years ago. I've been rolled to many times!

Not sure how they do it anymore as I haven't bought rolls from the mint in years, but I remember jeffersons coming in a nice little tray that held each roll in place in the box. The packaging has really gone downhill if this is how rolls are packaged now.

Suggest to the mint that they innovate a better way to ship the rolls.

As mentioned. They had a lovely plastic tray for earlier releases. Worked real good. Heck, last year’s woman’s quarters were in one. Here’s a picture
Why can’t they do something similar for these.

@Kurisu—I replied to the survey that I received relating your complaint about the appearance of the rolls. I have not looked at mine.

I've been subscribed to the inno dollar rolls, and they have all come in plastic containers until the Indiana release. Now they attempt to wedge the roll into a slot in the cardboard, but they won't stay in the slot at all. I'm guessing it's another attempt to cut costs just like the new holders for the proof ASE

Wow!! I have not purchased any rolls from the Mint in quite a few years, but they used to be securely packaged. Not like those boxes. Cheers, RickO

Yup...and they stopped using the trays at the Bessie Coleman quarters...
I posted about my ruined rolls when I received my Bessies too - https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/1088008/my-womens-quarters-mint-rolls-from-the-mint-i-am-not-happy#latest

My Eleanor Roosevelt quarters where in slightly better condition but also banged up and loose in their boxes - https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/1092221/eleanor-has-arrived#latest

Today I received my 3nd shipment of the Indiana Innovation Dollars - Haven't opened these yet, but the individual rolls in each box are clearly loose in each box...ugh again!!!

So today I called customer service again...now I have to decide which of my 7 Innovation dollar rolls I'm returning while I wait for my replacement orders at the end of August. This just totally defeats the purpose of ordering Mint rolls as well as ordering them early so that some can be resold at a premium.

I've requested a call back from a manager in customer service now that my Bessies, my Eleanors, and the last 3 orders of Innovation dollars have all arrived unsecured and banged up in their individual boxes.
    This is absolutely maddening.

You are correct. They changed the quarters packaging. I remember mine were mercifully ok but you and others were not so lucky.
Now about the fact that you seem to be having an extra helping of problems. Sorry about that. When it rains it pours but dang how about giving a fellow formite a break.
    Thanks 🙏
