Newp GTG - 1809/8 $5 RESULT POSTED
I just received this gorgeous coin from our very own @ScarsdaleCoin and could not be happier. I love toned gold with minimally abraded surfaces and this beauty absolutely fits the bill. The grade is posted on my IG so no guesses if you know already
Any long scratches are on the holder...just low quality cell phone pictures so give it your best shot!
Most people are honing in fairly close. Tough guessing with my poor pictures. Looking at Coin Facts this type seems to be fairly inconsistently graded. In hand, judging by wear alone, the obverse looks looks right around 45 and the reverse is a 40 however the fields are much nicer than the average XF and it has the luster of a mid grade AU. For overall eye appeal I don't think it would be easy to find a more attractive coin in XF.

Nice pick up, congrats. Love this pic, Liberty looks like she's about to blast some tyrant with her laser eyes lol.

Nice one.
EF45.
Looks 53 could be in a 55 holder.

Nice early gold. I like it as a VF-35 or even an EF-40. A little too much wear for the Choice EF range for me.

Gorgeous coin.
My first pass was 35, but then I thought that's a little too low.
Guess 40.
Could see one up, or one down; 35, 40 or 45.

A coin I would love to have.
I've seen XF45's that are not that nice. Yes, some inconsistency over the years in grading. Deserves at least a 45... guess the sticker helps. Still a nice coin.

Late again... Was going to guess XF45.... I like gold coins and tend to be a bit forgiving when grading them. Cheers, RickO
Very nice coin, hard to find early gold original and PQ. Over a decade ago I asked Jon at the Westchester show about some early raw gold he had at his case the previous show that was tough to accurately grade. The next show he told me he sent them off for grading and they all graded higher than he had priced them at including some Uncs..
