Laura gave me clearance to tell you that she is doing great after her kidney transplant. She will be at the ANA. Don't blow up her phone, please, she is in in pain and had "a softball inserted" in her side. Wish her well.

I'm sure she's had a rough time; I have an older sister who has to go to dialysis every week a number of times. Not easy, but hopefully she'll heal up ok.

Curious - why the walking?

Along with the transplant there is several immunosuppressive meds that must be taken daily, sometimes 3 times a day.
Once you are well enough and safe, need to wear mask. Because immune system is zero.
Transplant people need to walk. It’s the easiest, easiest way to exercise. Exercise is crucial to remain well.
I will admit after my second one I wasn’t able to do as much as my first but I still try at least 1/2-1 mile a day.
Not much but it’s movement. Years back on the first one I was doing 5+ miles and more.

From what I understand it was a struggle to get her implant, things were looking grim. Laura has always been a fighter and it's great news, I think she should recover in Bruce's pool house!
