Nothing is as expensive as free money.
@JJM... Very nice gold coin, and a fitting tribute to a truly great American. Cheers, RickO

Seeing all this modern gold reminds me of the 2008-2011 timeframe and the hey-day of flipping modern US Mint products. I'll have to get a few pieces out of the SDB and image them for the thread, as well.

My favorite modern gold piece.
I bought one of those, but the one the mint sent me was defective. I blew it off for bullion and made a few bucks. It was really disappointing.
Lafayette Grading Set
This has a 64 grade which I can’t say I’ve see on a proof. I couldn’t get the color in my pics but it’s a beautiful orange

I purchased the Martha Washington but this is the coin I really wanted. Washington was $100 over spot but seller put a premium on this one. If gold drops I will be getting one of these in the box it came with. This is by far the nicest modern gold.

This was one of the best modern designs to come out of the mint. On par with the renaissance era designs.
I bought it from the Mint 15 years ago and it displays as nicely in OGP now as it did then.
On the contrary, Google is not your friend.
I’ve had this one for 16 years and always felt slabbing ‘em would be a disservice to the set.
Edited for spelling

I don’t often do modern, but these are modern gold coins I got last year that I really enjoyed getting.
I had all three slabbed.
Basically it’s the same coin, three different types of strike, the matte is by far the most important, and the rarest it was struck on the day of his coronation, 6 May 2023, then after that, they released the proof which they made and sold out shortly after release and seemingly the last was the regular bullion strike, which I got from APMEX.

very gleamy, pretty in a way, but hard to photograph!

Here are the same coins, their true views:
The regular bullion strike is hard to photograph, PCGS did a GREAT job capturing this one!
