Old Gold and a Birthday Surprise
![Boosibri](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/userpics/980/nO42TFZJKETQD.png)
Last year I turned 40 years old. My mother and step-father visited on the occasion and we had a nice dinner after a surprise party at a local brewery. The real surprise came that night when my step-father handed me a small bag of coin which had been in his family for about 100 years and came from his grandfather who was a jeweler in Elmhurst Illinois. In the bag were three quarter eagles and an eagle. All of which were "gem" circulated with just the perfect look for a circulated gold coin. These four coins pair with three others that he had given me to have graded which came from the same small collection put together by his grandfather.
Without further ado, here are the four recent coins with Trueviews. The Eagle is by far my favorite:

Nice Step Father!
Weird. I've been working away from the computer and had the tab with this thread minimized. When I came back to it and re-enlarged the tab all the coins now show up where none had previously.
RIP Mom- 1932-2012
I too hope that you pass them down to some future collector in your family.

Happy belated two birrhdays!
Sounds like your step father served up dessert that night. My favorites would be those two classic heads. Beautiful original color appear to have been left alone for almost 200 years.
Didn't realize you were such a youngster. You must have been at MSU when my son was attending.
