Nice article Steve! @winesteven Well Done!
Congratulations @winesteven !! Well deserved!! I must add that I completely agree with your philosophy regarding upgrades. Once I find a suitable example of a coin; I rarely upgrade it.

Great article, congrats @winesteven
Mr_Spud
Don’t be that impressed. There’s a tremendous amount of overlap, utilizing the same coins. For example, my “main” set is my Dansco 7070 with Gold. From that set, I use mostly those coins for a Nickel Type Set, Proof (1865 - 1964); a separate but almost identical set that allows a mix of Proof and Business strikes called Nickel Type Set (1865 - 1864); Gold Type Set 8 Piece; Gold Type Set 12 Piece; Gold Type Set 12 piece - CAC (where only coins with CAC stickers are allowed); 20th Century Gold Type Set; two very slightly different 20th Century Type Sets, no Gold; a 41 coin Basic U.S. Coin Design Set, no Gold; a 54 coin Basic U.S. Coin Design Set; a 7 coin Basic Bust Type Set no Gold; a 7 coin Basic Seated Liberty Type Set; Complete Barber Type Set (only 3 coins are required); a Dansco 7070 set, but this set has no gold; a 9 coin Small Cent Type Set that allows a mix of Business Strike and Proof coins; an almost identical 9 coin Small Cent Type Set that requires only Business strikes; slightly different than the above two Nickel Type sets are two 10 coin Five Cent Type Sets (virtually identical to each other, one requiring only Proof coins, the other allowing a mixture); Gold Dollar Type Set (only three coins are required for a set requiring only business strikes, and the exact three same coins used for a Gold Dollar Type Set that allows, but does not require, a mix of proof and business strike coins.
So from that one main set - Dansco 7070 with Gold, I was able to legitimately make another 20 subsets that at most required me to add maybe a handful of coins not in the Dansco 7070 main set.
But that’s not all. I started a Flying Eagle Set, and actually have seven separate Flying Eagle Registry sets with only slight differences among them; My 55 coin Indian Head Cent set, with those identical 55 coins used in a separate IHC set that requires all coins to be with CAC stickers; from my one 1936-1942 US Proof Set Registry Set I’m able to partake in 16 additional subsets, each using coins from only that one 1936-1942 Proof set registry set; from my 10 coin Two Cent set I also added two other versions of Two Cent Registry sets using only coins from that main Two Cent set; and finally, with my Twenty Cent set, Franklin Proof Set and 50 coin Silver Classic Commem set, I also partake in identical sets, but where every coin has to have a CAC sticker.

https://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/type-sets/design-type-sets/complete-dansco-7070-modified-type-set-1796-date/publishedset/213996
@winesteven How many actual full sets of coins do you have? No duplicate sets for the same coin included. So if a coin is in a set and not included for another set how many would you actually have?
Successful BST with ad4400, Kccoin, lablover, pointfivezero, koynekwest, jwitten, coin22lover, HalfDimeDude, erwindoc, jyzskowsi, COINS MAKE CENTS, AlanSki, BryceM
I did what Steve did. I started out with the 7070 Dansco type set and then branched out into other sets, now 92 of them. I think it would be almost imposable to figure out how many sets we would have with just using the coin once in any set
Maybe Steve can follow up with this.

@alaura22 Well he has his full IHC set so thats 1. I think he said he has a full set of Commemoratives so that would be 2. I lost track after that.

A true collector to the bone. Your sets are a delight to look at.
But
If the type set includes the IHC then it would be used there.....
See what I mean.......
I'll try and figure mine out but I'll tell you that out of the 92 sets I have their would probably be only a few
Mike

Danco Set
@alaura22 Thats what I'm trying to figure out. If 65 or 92 sets in your case is actually like 3 sets with a few other coins thrown in.

Yes, except for any foreign sets and any coins that are not in the type sets.
It also depends on the type set, a complete type set from 1792-present would surely add a lot of coins into the mix.
