@gumby1234 said: @winesteven How many actual full sets of coins do you have? No duplicate sets for the same coin included. So if a coin is in a set and not included for another set how many would you actually have?
Keep in mind that for each full set (like my Indian Head Cent set, Two Cent set etc.) I include the highest graded coin from each of those in my Dansco 7070 Type Set, NO Gold. But since that Dansco set has 73 coins, and the number of my full sets of series coins is only 10 sets, I feel it’s therefore legitimate to count that Dansco set.
Dansco 7070 Type Set, NO Gold. Current Rank #3. (A few of these 73 coins are used in the 21st Century Type Set).
Flying Eagle Cents with Major Varieties, Circulation Strikes. Current Rank #10.
Indian Cents Basic Set, Circulation Strikes. Current Rank #6.
Lincoln Cent DATE Set, Circulation Strikes (Wheat Cents). Current Rank #7.
Shield Two Cent Classic Set, Circulation Strikes. Current Rank #6.
Twenty Cent, Circulation Strikes. Current Rank #8.
Standing Liberty Quarter FULL HEAD DATE Set, Circulation Strikes. Current Rank #3.
Silver Commemoratives 50 Piece Type Set, Circulation Strikes. Current Rank #13.
Franklin Half Dollar Basic Set, Proof. Current Rank #11.
Morgan Dollars DATE Set, Circulation Strikes. Currently in progress.
Peace Dollars DATE Set, Circulation Strikes. Currently in progress.
1936 - 1942 Proof Set. Current Rank #4.
21st Century Type Set, Proof. Current Rank #1.
Gold Type Set 12 Piece, Circulation Strikes. Current Rank #12.
(From above, sets #2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 14 also have identical sets created by PCGS but that require every coin to have a CAC sticker. Those sets of mine are Current Rank #5, #2, #2, #2, #3, #3 and #6).
So despite dozens of subsets as I described in my reply on page 1 of this thread, I feel from the sets shown in this reply, that my collection, and Registry sets, demonstrate quite a BROAD representation of high grade U.S coinage! Perhaps that might be the reason PCGS chose me for the Collector Spotlight for this current issue?

Steve congratulations on a wonderful and deserved recognition !,
Is it possible your next stop might be world coinage ?
It is a natural progression. You apply your skillset learned collecting US coinage to coins of the world.....especially grading skills.
I myself was a avid US collector up till late fall 2016 . Since then I collect foreign coins only with a emphasis on mexican 8 reales 1823 -1897.
Thanks for your constructive suggestion. I think it’ll be awhile before I start with World coins. For now, as noted above, I’m working on my Morgan and Peace Dollar DATE sets. At the same time, I’m also looking for a few Proof Flying Eagles, and upgrades to Indian Cents, one of my 20 Cent pieces, and three of my Standing Lib Quarter Full Heads. That’ll keep me busy for quite some time, but thanks.

Thanks. That bow tie is 100% natural feathers from Peacock and Guinea. All natural colors, no dyes. It’s sold by Brackish, although the two older ties I have are no longer offered. I recently bought two new ones, so I have four different ones. One of the older ones is a great depiction of the American Flag, made from Pheasant, Quail and Goose feathers. When I get to my desktop tomorrow, I’ll see if I have a photo.

Here's a photo of me with that bowtie mentioned above - 100% feathers (made from Pheasant, Quail and Goose feathers), and no dyes - all natural colors. I'm with my fiancé - engaged since March 2022, getting married this July.

I'll check them out at Brackish. An actual butterfly bow tie isn't doable because the refracted color is on scales that would come off as soon as someone straightens the tie, if not earlier.
Congrats on your recognition for kindness to animals. We've been active with animal rescue for many years. Our 3 dogs and 5 cats are all rescues.
Congrats on the article and all the sets you've managed to put together! I enjoyed meeting you at FUN and having the privilege to photograph some of your coins.

Thank you, but to set the record straight, we were not honored by American Humane, but attended their fundraising Gala. I’m glad to know of your support for animals as well.

Thank you (and others above for your kind words).
It was real nice meeting you too, and you did a GREAT job on the coin photos. What great detail! I’ve uploaded about 65% so far. I need to find more time to upload the rest.
Thanks.

Steve's sartorial style (colorful bow ties) is evident in his photo in the Market Report Article.
Very sharp indeed. Just like his eye for quality coiins.
Terrific achievement and an inspiration to us all.
Great read, and it says volumes just reading what others posted here about you @winesteven. I know it's all true and deserving.

Happy to speak with if you want too about foreign coins...

Steve, beautiful collection and I like the bowtie! Very Lepidopteran-esque.
As an aside, nice idea for bowtie designs - impressionistic depictions of colorful butterflies. Does the seller sell these as such?
