1921-S Half - First Walker Purchase - GTG **REVEALED**

MS is waaaay outta my ballpark on this date. It is straight graded. I've been looking for good eye appeal, trueview and "inexpensive" for the christmas box for my relative.
I'll do my own type set eventually with "better" coins, but this has been great practice at getting a feel for alot of different coins.
I like the look of this one for what it is.

That's a great looking coin. I'd go VG8.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
I would have to agree with TomB and say VG8
VG10 or F12
Great Date, and a wholesome look for that grade ... yeah, VG8 seems right

Good 6. Just a bit too much wear to call it VG8. An exceptionally nice example of the grade.
I really like the WLH, and therefore (it seems), I tend to judge them favorably, so, I will say VG10. Cheers, RickO
VG8
The top images made me think G6, but the slab shots show stronger rims, so VG8.
Be careful, these early walkers are addictive!
G6.
8
VG08
I have a G06, and it is a little more worn than this coin.
I use a piece of paper to cover descriptions while i look at auctions. Then i try grading from the pic, before i look at actual grade.
This one i thought 10-12 range.
I'm slowly understanding more about buy the coin, not the holder.
As for my grading eye? i'm at least on the dartboard now and not hitting the wall, thanks to this site.

For comparison of wear, here is my PCGS G06.

No doubt it's a high end Good. It has a lot of meat left on it. It probably would easily CAC if it was worth doing.

Awesome pickup for your first Walker!!

My guess would have been VG, but I don't disagree with G6. It's a nice looking good though. Great example of a better date Walker.
Honest pocket carried and commerce used.

Does cac do coins in this low of grade? I've never used their service.

I love the look of old silver like that. It is how my raw SLQ set started. But be careful - you'll find that might like a touch more of this detail or that detail. I went from being happy to have full dates on my SLQ to a set that is mostly XF/AU![:o :o](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/open_mouth.png)

@Shane6596 Nice score.
Got mine in the raw for $25 and came back as AG 3 from Anacs when they had the ten dollar specials.
Yes, the SLQ's are very addicting. Collecting them in the raw was great fun but when the slabbed game started, the wallet started getting depleted rather quickly.

Really a good looking coin @Shane6596 WTG!!
I wondered if it could be a 6 because of the faded rim on the reverse ... but as a 6, I think it is very premium. I stand by my original call, looks like an 8.

Still looks nicer than the assigned grade of G6 to me.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
I agree with the 8.
I also agree with @Mr_Spud who said "I like it when my coins look better than the grade assigned, I like them a little bit less when the grade seems maxed out and don’t like them even more when the coins seem overgraded."
I've been passing on alot of coins lately.
I'm sure ill still make some bad impulse purchases when the cocktails and "oooh, look its shiny" kicks in some weekend.
It's all part of the fun.

G-6+
CAC will sticker it. But at $35 fee too costly.
