PCGS Moderators, please fix the "Edit" Bug

I just went to edit a long comment that had no outside links in a thread that I simply used the "Strikethrough" to cross out a word I used and replace it with another. My comment went into the moderator approval abyss again. This has been going on for several months and I'm not sure exactly what triggers it, but can we please look into this and see if theres a solution?

Dan - you're being targeted by the AI for being deplorable!
"Got a flaming heart, can't get my fill"
That's happened to me several times. I've learned to "cut" before I edit so that if that shows up at least the original post is saved.
It is an annoying bug.
If I’m too caffeinated I make posts with typo errors and I find if I try to go back in and edit more than once in a short time period that it makes my post disappear and get that same message.

The folks at PCGS have no ability to fix forum glitches or bugs.
The forum is managed by Vanilla Forums.
Bugs are reported to Vanilla Forums by someone at PCGS, it is up to Vanilla Forums to correct it.
Major glitches that are easy to replicate are usually easy to resolve.
Intermittent glitches that Vanilla can not replicate are hard for them to resolve.
I would be willing to bet the edit glitch has been reported to them in the past and they have not been able to duplicate it.
I know this is not the answer you wanted to hear and maybe someone from PCGS will give a better answer.
Below this email will be a test email where I write the word “Test” and then I’ll go in and edit it multiple times adding an s on the word each time. If it works the post will disappear and it will be proof that the glitch can be duplicated at will. If it doesn’t work there will be a post with the word Testssss on it.

It didn’t work. I can’t make it happen on purpose

1000% do the same thing. Nothing like trying to rage reproduce that excellent wall of text you sent 30 minutes crafting to notice one spelling error, fix it and have it all go away. Never again!

Yes. The other night they were working on the forum and it was Vanilla. Didn't quite get the whole Vanilla.
Also have noticed it when I did a quick edit as Mr_Spud noted.

I just made it happen on purpose. You guys saw my previous comment that I will include a screenshot of. I edited it to add the word “test” at the bottom, nothing happened. Then I went to use the “strikethrough” on the word test and it disappeared completely.

I think this is part of the problem fixing it.
I found that if you edit a post then go back and immediately edit it again, this is usually when it hits the moderation queue.
Simply waiting a few minutes between edits seems to keep it from happening in my experience.

I would agree that I've found it to happen more often when making a quick edit, but certainly have had it on my BST pages that I'm updating quantities when making a sale.

This post may help them to track it down.
@DeplorableDan "I went to use the “strikethrough” on the word test and it disappeared completely."
Well then don't use the "strikethrough"

Well, then- don't do that.
Problem solved.
I guess the next time I make a regrettable comment while slightly inebriated, I know what to do 😉

Someone try to reply on Erik babulas comment at 7:55 pm, I tried to reply about 5 times with the same exact response, 1 short paragraph, and each time it went into moderator approval.

Try the preview before you hit post or try saving as a draft and then post.
It has worked for me in the past when I was having problems.
I was going to try, but the latest reply is 6:39 pm...
Ok, ok, 7:55 est 🥸

I just quoted his post at 5:55 MST, added a comment and it posted.
Damn. You see the comment where I just decided to tag him instead? I tried to use that comment in response to that comment 4-5 times and it kept doing the same thing sending me into the abyss.

I'm sure I can't figure it out- sorry.

I've had it happen several times over the past few weeks when trying to edit a typo, nothing to do with "strikethrough", at least for me. In fact I noticed a typo in one of my posts in the VaultBox Survey thread, but I am hesitant to try and fix it because I don't have the will to repost, which drives the OCD part of me crazy.
Whole thread I had just went poof.
Glad I copied it.

I wanna go back (go back)
And do it all over
But I can't go back, I know
I wanna go back (go back)
'Cause I'm feeling so much older
But I can't go back, I know
You can't go back
I can't go back
I know now that things will never be the same
No, no
I said I wanna go back
And do it all over
But I can't go back, I know

It’s a glitch in the matrix. Nothing to fear…
This issue has not happened to me, even when I edit a post. Notable, I have never used strikethrough, nor have I edited more the same post more than once. Cheers, RickO
I too have had this problem in the past.
It does take me a long time to write a post and proof read it before I post it. What I do now if the post is wordy and long or has typos, I just hit the save draft button before trying to correct any issues. At least this way I can save myself the aggravation of starting over.
