Some years back, I bought this silver story holder. You know the kind that has a Morgan, Peace and a little capsule with silver nuggets in it and a little story. Was just wondering what y'all think about this Peace Dollar that's in it. Thanks!

Maybe, II can see a green tint in the pics but I'm not seeing the green tint inhand. May be a pvc film on it?

I would be very concerned about PVC with that type of holder, and that haze covering the coin. I would get them all out of the package... Acetone the coins, reholder in a safe package. The coin looks like a nice mid range MS grade... Not sure about the black spot though. Cheers, RickO

Looks BU to me. Maybe MS64. Agree on the PVC. Time to break her out.

They look like much nicer coins than you usually see in these type of holders but I strongly agree get them away from that plastic like yesterday.

Apparently I am the only one that sees what appears to be wear/rub on it. Especially on the hair and on the eagle.

The other thing that is sometimes hard for me to tell is the difference between rub and week strike. It is also harder to tell in photos than in hand.

Well it's really not worth grading. I'm guessing I bought this set maybe 10yrs ago or more. I may get some acetone one day and rinse it and the morgan. But will probably just put it back in the folder. The front plastic is a little worn and doesn't actually touch anything in there. It hangs on the wall. Thanks for all the responses y'all!

That is what I did - put them back in the holder and out for display. Except I got rid of the pvc 'envelope' and they just rest in the cardboard for display on/in a shelf (could maybe try to put a 'slide' like a cut up bill holder or similar between them and the outer cover or maybe the tight half of a airtight if it would fit in the hole). They should clean up nicely. Here is the thread link with results.

I didn't think about that. I have some currency holders. May check how they compare to size and just take that cover off and staple the currency holder to it. Thanks.
