Is this a fake PCGS slab?

I don't want to hassle the seller if the coin/slab is genuine.
It's just that the obverse PCGS gold shield is usually a foil-like texture look, and this one doesn't have that.
Thanks for looking!

Yes it's fake and if it's the same seller I've seen on eBay, they have a bunch of these fake slabs.
Here is the real one:

If the coin’s genuine, it’s an excellent bet that the holder is, too. Maybe ask on the World and Ancient coin forum?

it looks in-line with some foreign slabs i've seen but i've not seen enough of the counterfeited foreign slabs to offer much of anything w/o some image comps in this thread.
does the code scan, cert check out?
Scan the QR code on the back of the slab picture. It pulls up a different slab on the PCGS web site.

Id be afraid to scan the QR code!
Alright, then you can type in the cert. number on the PCGS Cert. Verification page to see it.
Here it is.

The gold and gold line (goes through the P) in PCGS does not match. The location height-wise of the pcgs relative to the square-code. Size of the registered R. Other?
The pcgs museum of holders does not have one with the gold shield on the reverse but here is one of mine and you can see the differences. At the bottom.

First glance at the coin and you can see it's Chinese modern fake. Garbage.

Compare the two pics. The real one looks like a warrior on a war horse. The fake one looks like it kid in a Halloween costume sitting on the fake horse outside the supermarket.

The prongs are weird in the fake slab. I was gonna say the plastic part of the slab looks to be a pretty good fake, but the gasket is awful. The label is all wrong as far as font and colors.
sheesh. after the comment i made above, look what i came across in my archives. something that someone else posted. so i can for SURE say i've seen them before. ><
Sure looks like a fake coin...but I am not an expert on Chinese coins. Cheers, RickO
I just scanned the bar codes of the fake and real slabs.
The fake barcode does not coincide with the Cert# info but the QR code does line up.
The real slab bar code and QR code match up to the cert info.
You can visually see the font markings / differences in the bar codes.
I did this right off the pictures provided by the posters on my computer screen.

The coin is fake. Clearly, undeniably, blatantly, irrevocably fake, as fake as a thirty cent coin. PCGS would never slab such an object as "genuine", not even if you got the entire grading team blind drunk. Therefore, the slab is fake too. The lack of gold paint is merely supporting evidence for the fakeness.

Apparently I have been awarded one DPOTD.
In this case, nobody has to be an expert on fake slabs or an expert on this particular series of coinage. You just need to utilize the technology PCGS has provided to confirm this is a fake. Like Wayneas said, scan the bar code, or enter the Cert. # on the PCGS Cert verification page, (there’s an app for that).

This auction is very similar. Please report it. TrueView does not match the coin.

All of this seller's stuff is fake.

And it is all gone...
That is one ugly effin’ metal disk.
Interesting that the grade on the fakes is AU something...used to be mostly MS so I suppose the counterfeiters have found that it is less suspicious (i.e.: they sell better) if there seems to be some 'circulation' on them which is really just more time being polished. The British Trade Dollar shown is not an AU-53 at least compared to the one I have, it is more like an XF.
At least the engraving is not very well done so should be easily identifiable to most collectors.
