First Redfield holder in my collection - 1891-CC Morgan!

I always thought these silver dollars and their story was cool, but have seldom seen a CC within a Redfield holder. Not sure how scarce these are because there doesn't appear to be population reports for them, Kudos to NGC for keeping that holder intact and assigning it a grade, much like the GSA holdered dollars. This coin does have some nice toning, most likely picked up from the holder and also is that goofy "spitting eagle" variety. More like spittle if you ask me!

The 91cc was the 5th scarcest with 3 to 5 bags in total (1,000 per bag). This is an estimate as no inventory was ever taken.

Very nice, congrats. Are those hologram stickers over the top & bottom from NGC? Assuming holograms did not exist when Paramount encased in the holder. Do they make the case tamper-proof?

Years ago, when I was assembling my CC Morgan series, I looked for a CC in a Redfield holder. Did not find any. Nice to see one. Cheers, RickO

I can remember the pictures of the "authorities" shoveling the loose coins into wheel barrels and bins.
    Great pickup @ElmerFusterpuck.
Any info on how you acquired it, would be appreciated.

Very nice! I wish NGC would put the label on the back like that for GSA holders.

Looks like a nice one. I only bought one of each, black and red, but not cc. They seem to keep toning a little with time.

When it comes to cc's northern Nevada is one place I look but didn't see any. However, sarasota also has a lot of cc dollar material and quick look through I saw 92, 93 cc redfield ngc (note, they have just paramount also but clearly label them paramount or redfield and I think all the 80's were paramount).

Cool pickup all around. I believe the toning on yours was imparted by the holder. My Avatar coin is in PCGS plastic today, but I think it was in either a Redfield or Paramount holder in an earlier life.
