Good point, however if the Yankees game was concluded beforehand, with live game betting, when Duke had I think it was a 15 point lead, you could have cashed out the parlay then for a nice score. I'm guessing that the cashing out payoff would have only been around 10% less profit than if the game was finished and Duke still won by 15 points.

Of course it's hard to cash-out early when a team such as Duke has a 15 point lead. I mean why give-up 10% of your profit when it looks like a sure win? Although Duke wasn't a heavy favorite in that game, it was -4.5 points. So Houston closing that 15 point gap wasn't exactly a shocker, but was certainly a surprise.

The key decision making factor in cashing-out in that situation, is not only analyzing the 10% less profit, but also factoring in if you allow the bet to continue and lose, then you've also lost your original wagering amount as well.

Easy for anyone to say now what should have been done if making the bet. But considering the amount of money involved, sacrificing the 10% profit for a sure thing beautiful score, wouldn't have been a bad idea.

    We cashed out

I've learned that greed will screw you hard if you keep. pushing the envelope, we are at the point now where we are talking about putting a $1900 bet on a baseball game so we hit the full stop button and cashed out with each of us taking a $700 profit which all started in my boss office contemplating leaving work early and putting a couple hundred on roulette at the local casino lol

The Duke game would have been a horrific outcome, so glad we didn't mess with the mojo

they made one FG in the last 10:30 with the best player in college basketball on the floor

somewhere out there is an unfortunate soul who needed a defibrillator after that game

John Scarne the most famous gambling author of all time, I read his best selling book, stated that once he was in a casino when 17 straight, it was either red or black, came up. If the casino didn't have a cap on the wagering amount, you could let that $200 ride, and after 17 straight winning spins, you'd not only own the casino, but the casino owner's house and yacht as well. LOL

I like the Connecticut ladies ML to beat the South Carolina ladies for the championship.

UConn might also cover the spread of -7.5, it wouldn't surprise me.

As in the movie Rounders when all Mike was thinking about was "Vegas and the Mirage", and he got crushed. Duke perhaps with that 15 point lead was only thinking about San Antonio, and they got crushed.

With the profit boost, it sort of forced the tickle.

Great decision not to parlay the fat winnings from the previous Yankees-Pirates games. 👍

I'm so glad I didn't put myself through that horror, 9th inning 2 outs and they were down 4 to 1 then tie it lol

They had their chances in extra innings but fell short

Had no play in the game but glad the Huskies won. Surprised on the final tally they won by.

Caught 1 of my 3 golf plays. Conners let me down with a 2 over on the last day. Cost me my top 10 play. Probably a push overall in the profit department.Depends on if any split in the top 20 in my play. Nice pickup galaxy. Now on to The Masters

Galaxy is way overdue for a nice score. I may be mistaken, but I think he's hit the last two out of three golf bets, maybe it's two out of four. So like a top thoroughbred, hopefully he's rounding to form.

Here's hoping that after the Masters, Galaxy makes the bookies balance sheet shorter than they expected.

No split on my Bud Cauley play. So made a slight profit overall with 1 win,2 losses plays.

    Early favorites to win:

    Scottie Scheffler +400
    Rory McIlroy +650
    Jon Rahm +1400
    Collin Morikawa +1600
    Ludvig Åberg +1800
    Xander Schauffele +1800
    Bryson DeChambeau +2000

It figures, no value at all on Scottie. I'm guessing the true odds should be around double that. Pathetic odds on Rory as well. But the bookies know they can get away with it, as some will bet on them anyway, despite the horrendous odds.

    looking forward to yours

the first time i went to the Masters was back in 2014. seems like a distant memory. guess what else happened that year? the last time Rory won a major. the drought has got to end, and no better time than the present. he's playing some of the best golf of his career, so it feels like it's now or never. if it is indeed now, i'm ready.

Interesting there is a top 40. I hadn't seen that before.

I'd have to think some whales are going to pound a few of these.

    Top 40 Finish (Incl. Ties)
    Scottie Scheffler -6000
    Rory McIlroy -2000
    Collin Morikawa -1050
    Jon Rahm -1050
    Ludvig Aberg -900

Interesting Masters stat. Only 1 golfer has won 3 Masters within a 4 year span. That being Nichlaus. Scottie trying to be the second.

I have been doing extremely well. Much better than expected when I first began during football season last September. With a computer and the amazing variety of plays available, including live, it's of course a whole new world versus the previous century.

I try to post my top picks here for entertainment purposes only. Overall so far with MLB I'm 11-2. Probably nothing more than blind good luck. 😉

    I enjoy doing it.

I've always liked seeing gamblers win. I know this sounds sick, but I like it even more when bookies lose.

one thing the Masters is known for is the affordability of its concession stands. inflation may run rampant in our country, but not at the little slice of heaven called Augusta National. the top pic is one I took back in 2014 when I went there for the first time. bottom pic is one taken this week that I snagged from the net. over a decade later, still relatively -- and incredibly -- static. booze is the biggest jumper, not surprisingly, but considering I paid over 15$ for a jumbo Michelob Ultra at the Valero last week and had a tablet jammed in my face begging for a tip on top of that, I'd take 6$ every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

My parents who were both golf enthusiasts, attended the Masters twice. They enjoyed it immensely.

I think I mentioned this before, they belonged to a course in Pennsylvania which was a stop on the LPGA tour. A number of times they enjoyed helping out doing things during the tourney, including changing the leaderboard, etc.

If I told ya the membership cost for that club, you wouldn't believe me. But my Dad wrote off a lot of it as a business expense. No fudging there, he played around three or four times a week with his customers, who loved it.

The result was a lot of very loyal customers. LOL

Don't recall exactly. My parents after retirement, moved around a bit, and they lived in Aiken SC at the time. Which isn't that far from Augusta.
