Not bad for 4 days of action. Xander came up 2 strokes short for my top 10 play and Horshel short by 1 stroke. Cauley a late run Sunday came up short as well.
NASCAR Talledega this week, home of the "big one", wreck's. Will have a play on this as well as the upcoming Kentucky Derby.
I've taken out a second mortgage on my house, refinanced my car, and even pawned my cat Fluffy for a few bucks, waiting for your Kentucky Derby pick.
After your pick wins, I'm heading off to the better part of town, swimming pools, movie stars. Like Jed Clampett did after striking oil.

i should've kept it rolling last weekend, because Cantlay slipped inside the top 20 along with your boys Fleetwood and Straka. why slow the momentum? reason #459 why i suck at gambling.
and what makes it even worse is that the team tournament in New Orleans is up next -- an event i have about as much interest betting on as preseason 🏈. none. thus i have to wait two more weeks for the Byron Nelson.

Would have won all four NBA games, but didn't play anything. The first three were bunnies. But I loved the fourth game, the Warriors as a dog, and they won handily.
Problem is i was shell-shocked after picking the Orioles yesterday and they lost 24-2. Are you kidding me? I had the ML and fully realize that losing by 1 run is the exact same thing as losing by 22 runs. But geez, that one shook me up, and so I didn't play anything the rest of the day.
Hissed me off a little bit because the shock had about worn off, by the time of that late NBA game last night, and I thought about playing it. However I've learned over the years when you're about to go on tilt, then it's best to abstain, and come back with a clear head. I especially learned that playing poker. When I have a really bad beat, I think it's best to walk away for a period of time or just quit the session, rather than possibly making bad decisions trying to rebound quickly from the loss.
Hopefully the Red Sox pick here gets me back on track. Right now they've got a nice 4-1 lead, White Sox only have six outs left. Hope I didn't just jinx it by mentioning it. LOL

Not much interest for me as well in the Zurich. Mac and Shane will be big favs I assume off Mac's Masters win. My interest is centered on NASCAR Talledega this week .
I've done those picks, not backed up with $ "bets" as well. They usually win just to P.Y.O.

You may have to spread around your funds a bit as I will most likely have not 1, not 2, but 3 picks. As I plan on doing something I rarely do in the KD,box an exacta. Usually due to the large field I avoid an exacta play. If the odds are enticing enough will single out to win the 3 picks in the exacta.

Anyone see any value bets for the top 5 or top 10 draft position bets??
I'm thinking about Shadeur Sanders top. 5 for positive money
I seem to learn something new on here almost every week. They allow betting on NFL draft picks? I would have never thought that. Frankly, I don't see how their computer could possibly calculate the "correct" odds on all this? Might be some amazing values in there. Some a license to print money.
For various reasons, I'd have to believe the books probably cap these wagers at a low number.

Completely understood. The "problem" with exactas, as I'm sure you know, is the track takeout is usually way higher than straight win, place, show bets.
A dollar exacta box with three horses is only six bucks, so what the yell. That being said, I've seen this too many times before, a player loads up with too many exacta wagers on a race, his key horse wins, but he actually would have made more money on the race, taking all that exacta money and just betting his key horse to win.
Of course it's that hope, and sometimes it happens, on say an exacta box with a key horse on top with the rest of the field, a bomb runs second for a juicy payoff. However if that second horse is one of the favorites, it's very possible to hit the exacta and actually lose money on the race.

You're right Paul, I don't gamble but I've never been afraid to take risks. There's a big difference between gambling and risk, in my opinion. For example, I've done quite well in the stock market over the years. Not from blind gambling on anything that moves, but selective investing. IE choosing situations and trading when I figure the odds are in my favor for success.
If the same thing could be done in sports betting, wouldn't it be a good "investment" so to speak? I mean if the book is grabbing say 5% juice on a bet, and it's a stone cold, 50/50 coin flip proposition, then in the long run the player has no chance of being successful. However if the book is grabbing the same 5% juice, but thru various ways the player derives that he has a 10% edge on the wager, meaning that he, minus the juice, now has a 5% edge on the bet. In the long run, it would be the player who makes money.
Perhaps I'll get more into this some other time at a later date. Suffice to say with all the "betting action" now available, the way I see it, there may be situations whereby the book's computer miscalculates the odds, and opportunities could arise from that.
Frankly, in the old days of basically only spread betting available, with a limited amount of games, and books did everything manually, in my view it was impossible to beat that in the long run, so I quit trying. But since I've been following it last September, admittedly late to the party, I've seen that for sure it's an entirely different world out there today.
I like the OCT ML in the 7:30 game. Short odds though pre-game.
OCT smashed the Grizzlies by 51 points in their outing a few days ago. I expect the Grizzlies to come out smoking mad and highly motivated for payback in the first quarter or two, maybe more. Perhaps OCT might be a better play with better ML odds if they fall behind a bit, before the Grizzlies run out of gas, and OCT runs right by them later in the game, possibly late in the game.
Who knows for sure? Perhaps the Grizzlies keep that momentum going for 48 minutes and cover the spread of 14.5? But winning the game? I doubt it.

NFL assistant coach pleads not to draft Colorado's Shedeur Sanders after 'worst formal interview'
The NFL draft is just under two days away in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and one of the top prospects most are keeping their eye on is former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
Despite his well-documented family history, an anonymous NFL assistant told NFL Media's Tom Pelissero Sanders could be in for a complete disaster of an NFL career if he doesn't clean up his act.
"The worst formal interview I've ever been in in my life," the executive said. "He's so entitled. He takes unnecessary sacks. He never plays on time. He has horrible body language. He blames teammates. ... But the biggest thing is, he's not that good."
There were uglier critiques, too, including an AFC coordinator who wasn't a fan of the comparisons to Deion Sanders.
"You can't have your dad saying, 'I'm going to come put a quarterback coach on blast who said you were arrogant.' So, he can't be criticized?"
Either way, it seems apparent the jury is still out on Shedeur Sanders. SN's Vinnie Iyer still sees the Colorado product as a valuable prospect as the No. 20 player in the class.

Let's see that negative number continue in the right direction!!
If I'm correct you worked that down from almost 6k correct?
had to go back and look actually
my low-water mark was a few weeks ago right before the Valero........... -5517
had a great Masters.......won $984 and change. if i hadn't hedged on Rory, i would've won more. but can you imagine if i hadn't? i wouldn't be typing right now because i would have had a massive coronary
i haven't been below 4k in many months.......that's the next baby step
if the first number i type is ever a 3 instead of a 4, in a very messed up way i'm going to feel like a winner 😅

I have no idea what the teams are going to do with this? But considering his football resume, the bookies at 21.5 sure ain't giving him much love.
Sure is tough to draft this guy high, considering his antics. When he receives his FU money, and doesn't care if he gets cut or not, then how is he going to act. Will he even be coachable? We shall see.

Cam Ward was plus money when the Draft bets first came out, Sanders was negative money at #1
When you're cold, you're cold, as mentioned before, better off taking a breather before going on tilt and getting crushed. So i didn't do anything yesterday.
But it figures, the Orioles squeaked out a win yesterday, after I lost with them three straight times. And they were a favorite each time. The game yesterday was a pick-em. I think they won that game just to irritate me. 😒
NASCAR plays fizzled Bell was leading in the first stage and got tagged in the rear by Hamlin. Put Bell head first into the inner wall. Bell done for the day. Last time I played Bell he wiped out in the Daytona 500 then went on to win 3 straight. Needed Chevy to come through. 2 Chevys got stuck behind 2 Fords who slowed the pace effectively blocking any advancement by those 2 Chevys who wound up 3rd/4th. There was no "big one" wreck much to peoples surprise.
On to the Kentucky Derby.

Cavaliers with an even crazier line at -8.5 than my previous comments about the Celtics game.
I mean they just beat the Heat by 37 points on Saturday, also on the road. I get the bounce back, revenge, payback, etc, angles whatever it's called. In theory the Heat should be highly motivated and of course not wanting to get swept at home. I think the Cavs will play just good enough to win, and move on to the next series. Might be by 5 points, might be 20 depending if the Heat quits or not.

-4367.89
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
Let's see that negative number continue in the right direction!!
If I'm correct you worked that down from almost 6k correct?
had to go back and look actually
my low-water mark was a few weeks ago right before the Valero........... -5517
had a great Masters.......won $984 and change. if i hadn't hedged on Rory, i would've won more. but can you imagine if i hadn't? i wouldn't be typing right now because i would have had a massive coronary
i haven't been below 4k in many months.......that's the next baby step
if the first number i type is ever a 3 instead of a 4, in a very messed up way i'm going to feel like a winner 😅
have a good day bro 🤙
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
You too. brother, and as always you know I'm rooting for ya 🍻💵
I like the Phillies ML in the 1:00 game.
I'm going in full "glutton for punishment" mode by playing the Orioles ML again, after their two straight humiliating defeats.
If they don't win this 6:45 game, it will be "Whoopi Goldberg" ugly.
Might as well do a parlay while I'm at it.
Phillies ML and Orioles ML.
"disciplined bet"
The bookies sure ain't gonna like when you start doing chit like that.
😉
Yes they want unbridled "Passionate" bets not thoroughly researched and well disciplined style betting 😂
But of course we all know you might as well flip. a coin and bet heads or tails 🤷
My last few picks on here, it's been heads the bookie wins, tails I lose. LOL
I was on fire since September. Cold as ice this past week. Not sure if posting this pic will reverse jinx my losing streak or add to it? LOL
2025 NFL Draft - Shedeur Sanders Draft Position
Over 21.5 +114
Under 21.5 -160
I have no idea what the teams are going to do with this? But considering his football resume, the bookies at 21.5 sure ain't giving him much love.
Sure is tough to draft this guy high, considering his antics. When he receives his FU money, and doesn't care if he gets cut or not, then how is he going to act. Will he even be coachable? We shall see.
Cam Ward was plus money when the Draft bets first came out, Sanders was negative money at #1
Pretty crazy
Glad I didn't bet Sanders to go in top 5
NASCAR Talledega plays:Field Chevy,Bell top 10 both $5. NBA ship winner $5 Celtics.
Hopefully accumulate a bankroll for that first Saturday in May. 🏇
The drag of not sport betting until. 5/1 drags on lol
After the dismal week of picking winners I had, I'll be lucky to pay the homeless shelter bill.
When did they raise the rates to 50 cents a day, and 10 cents for a bowl of soup? How am I supposed to pay for all that?
Took a dip in my golf plays. About a $10 loss. Not bad for 5 days of action.> @stevek said:
That funding has already been earmarked for that event. Looking forward to the race. Just hope for nice weather.
I like the Twins ML in the 7:45 game.
With a Twins +1.5 ARL as a partial saver
in case they lose by a run, which has
happened to me too often lately.
Short odds, but the Thunder ML game at 3:30 looks like a license to print money.
You are Lookin' Live from Downtown St. Louis as the Defending NFC Champions host the New York Giants...
Lemme tell ya something Brent...As much as I like the Giants...The Cardinals will be entering The Land of 6 too much for the Giants...
Brent...The Cardinals has too many weapons out there...That Giant's D Needs to be Spot On to stop the Cardinals...
Ya gotta block, cover, and execute...
Phyllis, Irv, and The Greek will catch you at halftime...
I've been looking at this Celtics game on & off all day. Still can't figure why the Celtics are only -7.5? I think it should be around double that.
I realize the Magic beat them on Friday. But the Celtics may have been napping a bit in that game.
i like the Celtics ML in this 7:00 game.
So I like the Cavs ML in this 7:30 game.
might be 100
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
Might be an interesting 4th quarter spread play with the Heat, still in the 3rd quarter, now at +45.5
The entire 4th quarter will of course be garbage time, with the Heat possibly covering that 45.5
I'm not calling it one way or the other. I've lost a few like this, and hit a few, but it's not as easy as it looks.
Some nice fat odds on the upcoming Byron Nelson, once you get past Scottie and Spieth.
Kentucky Derby shaping up. Have to follow any weather changes by Friday.
