A friend got this in change a few months ago and we sent it to PCGS for him. He’s letting me share it with the forums.
And from what I understand, he’s not selling it.
I’d probably keep it also FWIW

Amazing change find

I'm a little jealous, I would have slabbed and kept it myself.
Super cool to say the least.

Amazing change find, and a legitimate error. (Not mint made, employee shenanigans)

Just a thought…
You would think with that large of a cud there would be a way to figure out what year the coin was minted? There must have been a bit of deterioration progression that could be deciphered…
Sadly, I opened up this thread fully expecting another parking lot find with nothing more than EV but I was pleasantly proven wrong. Awesome coin!
Awesome! Love these brand-new errors.
The coin is a 2021 philly. There are a few on eBay with earlier progressions.

Coin should be dated 2021 on the holder, IMO.
The last time I received an error coin in change was circa 1968. Finds like that are highly unusual. Nice item!
A brilliant find!! 👍🏻 👍🏻
I remembered this but took a little to find in the search.

Nice find. Seems there may be a lot of those from small crack all the way to large cud. I wouldn't mind finding one.

Your friend did very well getting that, congrats
That is a great find in change.... We have roll searchers that rarely find something this impressive. Cheers, RickO
That's a huge cud--nice one.
Where was it found?
Somewhere around Asheville NC

His wife got it in change somewhere and noticed it, then gave it to him. He brought it to us and we figured it was worth sending in...

PCGS should be contacted on that no date slab. It should be dated 2021.
Everyone knows this fact.
PCGS knows the date of this coin.
I do agree with that.
