got the e mail, the 2021 silver proof set is 105 dollars, even at 40 percent off, still overpriced. looks like they want to blow them out opposed to melting them down

Too bad they don't run a 40% off the AGE, Platinum and Palladium coins. Those would probably still be priced high but closer to melt.

Got me to buy a 2021 silver proof set. So I guess it worked. I just could never see paying $105, with only two quarters in it.

Silver Proof set is $63.00, Proof Set is $19.20, and Uncirculated Set is $15.15. Total was $102.30 with shipping.

So for less than the normal catalog price for the silver set, I will receive all three sets.

No email for me, checked in spam even, and they're def individualized, I saw 2 very different ones friends shared.

Meanwhile they told me 3 to 4 more weeks till I get a refund for a silver Liberty with a nasty spot (I kept my others, despite the rim issues).

It shouldn't. This is often the case in retail. And we all know that 90+% of Mint products are cheaper on the secondary market. If you buy it direct from the Mint when they first go on sale, that is a conscious decision to pay a premium to get one early.

I disagree. Whatever happens in the secondary market is fine. When a seller, who has monopoly position, it stinks. In the past, the mint melted the leftovers. Now it sells them at a discount.

Retailers generally have a primary mission to achieving profits, with competitors that sell similar or identical product. The Mint has exclusive license with a primary mission to produce and distribute coins and medals for use in commerce.

Apples and Oranges. Because they are different, the tactics should be as well.
