Looks nice to me. Upper VF, I'd think.

I like it. Just bought one myself in close to same condition.

The wear on the arm, breast and leg look a bit accentuated, but I like the color and think it would XF.

Does the patch under the Eagle's head and above the left wing look odd to anyone, or am I just seeing things??

I enlarged the photo and that area appears about the same as the areas under the left and right wings with a lighter color near the devices and a darker color near the center of the field area. The area you mention appears to have a couple contact marks.

When I first looked a the photo I thought it looked as if maybe it was an old dip / light clean with good re-tone / secondary toning. But tilting the screen forward just a little the coin looks lighter and better so I would easily withdraw the first impression. Depends on what the actual true look is.

XF but too many small marks in the obverse fields for my taste. A good album coin.

@Ikenefic I think it looks odd also, but I think both shoulders of Liberty look similar and both are perhaps a photographic anomaly that might be removed with higher quality photos and different lighting. Just an opinion.
    BTW, I love the coin.

I like it. Looks to be VF 35-ish.
So hard to find this type coin with any attractive toning like this one has.

    VF-ish?

AU-ish depending on how much luster is left under the toning. There are some marks in the fields so it’s probably in the AU-50 range, not much higher.

I like the color. Would probably be a nice album coin. I also think that the damage above America might be borderline "Details".

I like it, think it looks about xf40

Too bad that design was so short lived.

If I really magnify that area, it looks to me like a tiny black crater at the center with metal pushed up around the sides. Kind of like a small nail punch would look. I bought a trade dollar off ebay with a punch like that once. Tough to tell for sure from those photos, though.

I have a 53a/r coin similar to this with no high point rub and slightly better condition. 150 years of sea green toning and no disturbances.
It's been graded by 20+ people anywhere from vf to au. I can't figure it out. Needs a real pro to capture the image. I'm not that guy.

    Have a nice day

I like yours as 40 but could be more depending on remaining luster. Either way I like it.

Here is my 40, and 50 by comparison.

Yes, but it was not easy to strike and chewed up a lot of dies. Some of the factors for a coin design is, can the mint strike it well, easily, at a reasonable cost?

I like it as a low XF.... the area between the head and shoulder does look strange... at first I thought it was repaired.... Magnifying it, I think it is just a minor hit and tarnish. Cheers, RickO

@lkenefic My example has a similar obverse toning pattern. See below:

As stated previously, I think your coin is a nice example.

A hugely under-appreciated thing. Barber was a master at this. For de Francisci and St. Gaudens (masters of aesthetics and form), their reach exceeded their grasp, a bit, when it came to coinage. Some (not all by any stretch) of the gosh-blah-ugly designs churned out by the mint these days reflects the realities of efficient industrial mass production.
